Come Shred the Gnar

Tuesday, March 06, 2007
Ola shredheads,

Now I know no one can compete with Whistler when it comes to parks, they have limitless money and an army of park staff, but how about Grouse, Cypress, Big White? Well you decide. Manning Park a little known shredders haven located between Hope and Princeton has been quietly creating a force to be reckoned with. Jay, Ty and Brett have  put in more rails then you can shake your jib stick at and count it, 5 tables. Two small beginners, which progress up to a 65 foot wedge that is beyond perfect. While working in the park i have heard many a times, "holy shi*t, that is a big jump" from the chair. The flat-down and down rail at the top of the park are at eye-level for me and i'm 5'10" so they sit nice and high out the of the ground. The channel gap was sessioned this weekend by skiers at 'Lord of the Park" and I know that snowboarders can hit it with more style. As a part-time park staff it breaks my heart to think that the park isn't being used to its full potential. I can't keep it a secret any more.......... Manning with no money and only two full-time staff members and a piece of sh*t old cat has a park that rivals anyones in BC outside Whistler. Don't believe the web-site photos they're from last year. Head to Manning on a weekend, when the park is perfectly groomed by Ty and check it out for yourself.

Hey!
It's not a piece sh*t! It's old, and falling apart. But we can't go calling it names or it'll go on strike (again)
