Hi there. Not too sure about places to stay in Avoriaz itself as I was mostly in Morzine doen the mountain a little - supposed to have better apres ski there though! How many people are you looking to go with? Ski-Q do some good deals for self catered chalets for 6-12 people. Or, if you want it a little quieter, www.barnational.com (my mum's friends) have self catered apartments and offer a bussing service to the slopes. (my pm's aren't working at the moment hence a comment!!)

Hey Sandra - the best months for Tahoe and Mammoth in terms of powder and big mountain riding are January, February and March
 
The best months for park/pipe riding are March and April

nah its not really hard to get a job i dont think. i worked at mammoth for a few months season before last and it was awesome. there were a lot of people working there from europe and australia, i think you should just call the resort and talk to somebody about what you need to do. or look on their website for info on that. but ullr is just a housing place i stayed at. its super cheap and pretty shi*tty, but you have alot of different options there, just look into it more cuz mammoth is super fun

the village is pretty big and got a lot of options for a stand alone mountain. intrawest is making a lot of improvements too so it'll be even better next year. i never lived at mammoth so i dont know about the difficulty of finding housing. the price of living is kind of high though but managable with roommates.
