A big giant sigh of relief. Our team, although having a somewhat shi*tty season on paper, narrowly missed being relegated to a lower division...and by narrowly, i mean by the skin off our asses, 1 point! A 5-9-2 record for the season(not counting tourneys and playoffs) doesn't look all that great considering we've placed in the top 3 for the last 3 years. The thing that sucks is we never had enough people show up to field a full team, so we always played 1-2 players short and the other team having a few subs. Almost all of our losses were only by 1 goal, a couple of them by 2 but that's not a big deal. That's what gets me, that's the part you don't see on paper....we're 2 players short, playing the best team in the league and we only lose 2-1...not bad if you ask me!
Now hopefully people become more dedicated next season, or we can find others who will be!!

I don't think I've ever endured so much pain in my life as I did tonight...well maybe, if you count my shoulder surgery...but even my foot surgery didn't hurt this much. Had a soccer game tonight...and I think my cleats decided to let me know it's time for them to retire. I've got 2 blisters about the size of toonies(for the canucks) and i'd say 1-1.5" in diameter on the balls of each foot right below the big toe. I could feel them starting up about halfway through the first half, the balls of my feet were on fire they hurt so much. Then about 10 minutes into the second half, about 4-5 steps appart, they each burst. I could feel my sock(double layers) getting real wet in the front. Try running the rest of the game when you've got 2 HUMONGOUS open blisters on the bottom of your feet....NOT FUN!! Since our team was short-handed, I couldnt exactly go off the field to take care of them or sit out...I had to tough it out, and thank god I did, I set up the winning goal to go along with the 2 goals I got in the first half...gave our team a 4-3 win and probably boosted us from 5th to 3rd in the league standings. Urghhhh it hurts!!

I would like to thank the two fine young lads that came into my store today and droped a grand  Must be damn nice to come from money and have your parents pay off your credit cards....but who am I to say no to their buisness? They went nuts, bought 2 pairs of shoes each, 6 hats between the 2 of them(including one for their brother), some socks, gel insoles, polo shirts, t shirts and shorts. Was quite the whopping bill coming in just shy of a thousand dollars. Mind you, these boys were all G'd up in Sean John and Nike Air Jordan clothing, and very clean cut and polite guys. The clothing in my store isn't cheap either, so when I saw them trying on a ton of stuff and wanting, the hugest smile came over me, we carry all Ecko, G-Unit, Enyce, Phat Farm and Sean John clothing...not the cheapest items out there!! They decided to each go with a pair of Nike Flight Banger basketball shoes and some Adidas a3 runners and Asics runners...good choice boys!! And thank you for the whopping paycheck I'll be getting in just over a week!!!

I will appologize to those of you who I talk to on a regular basis, but I won't be online much for the next week or so. It's really sad, but my boss has to fly down to Florida this morning for a family emergency and I will have to work my own shifts and cover his shifts as well. But the way I see it, he's treated me awesome, so I'll do anything to help him out, I know he'd do the same for me if the circumstances were to be switched around. So I went into work yesterday for a little bit on my day off so that the boss could sort out a few things before leaving this morning, and I'll be working everyday until next saturday as far as I can see, unless things go poorly while he's down there and has to stay longer...then my work stretch will go for more than 10 days.
On another happier note, I got another new tattoo yesterday!!! It looks so badass, I'll post a picture as soon as I get a copy of it from my artist, he did a pretty good job if you ask me!
Alrighty, I'm off now, time to go to work!

Last night as I was getting ready to close up my store, a gentleman came in and asked for me by name. Oddly enough that this never happens unless it's my dad or my brother, the fact that I've never met this guy threw me a little off base. Here's the story behind him coming into my store.

Being the huge soccer nut that I am, I'm able to help many of our customers with soccer requests by gearing them towards the right soccer shop for them since our company doesn't carry cleats, shinguards or anything of the sort. For the most part, I've been sending people out of town, to JMT MetroSport in Streetsville, InterSport in Milton or Oakville or sadly enough, any of the nearest SportChek locations for their soccer needs. A couple weeks ago, my soccer coach informed me that a shop opened up here in town that week and I was so happy. Now I didn't have to feel bad to be sending customers 40+ minutes out of town to get a decent pair of cleats, they and myself had somewhere here to go. Since then, I've been directing all our soccer requests to this new shop in town and people have been happy and excited that I'm willing to send buisness elsewhere and that there's something local.
The gentleman who came in last night was the owner of this new soccer shop. He came in to thank us for all the buisness we've been sending him and that a good half of the people are saying they're either sent by me or by my boss, Spiro. He came to ask us if we had a children's foot sizing chart and if not, where we could get one since he didn't have one in his store and to let us know, any of our staff who are soccer players can get a discount in his store because of how much buisness we're sending his way. How nice of him!!! So I spoke to my boss after the guy left and he told me to count how many sizing charts we had and if we had more than 2, to give any extras to this guy, free of charge. So I scrounged around our stock room and found our 3rd one, I will be going to see him today to give it to him and to buy myself some new shinguards since mine could kill a horse right now =P

This just goes to show that there really are nice people out there, this guy just came into our store to say thank you!

Ok, so I got my tax return from 2004 in the mail on monday(i know i know, i sent it in a year late) expecting about $60. I owed them $260 for my return, but was getting $360 in GST rebate checks...then take off my late fee and interest on my owings give my appx. $60. Stupid mistake of mine to open the envelope as I'm driving to work...they have me a whoping $1208!!!!! So to me, this is like winning the damn lottery! Apparently I had un-used tuition amounts from previous years that they put against my annual earnings to bring it down. So I paid off the $560 VISA bill that I owe my mom for my trip to Arizona last year, bought mom and dad each a dvd for putting up with my ass and myself a cd just because. Then I proceeded to get my little sister's birthday present(29th of April), paid my phone bill a couple weeks early(go me!) and went and bought myself some spiffy new shoes that I saw last weekend. Now I've still got about $300 left and I just got paid too, so this is awesome. I'm going to be getting a new mtn. bike this week since I totalled mine last summer and on tuesday, I'll be getting 2, that's right, 2 new tattoos!!! Stay tuned for photo's of these things because I will be posting them here and in the tat/piercing thread!!!

So my new job has been really kick ass lately, other than the week that I worked an extra 15hrs for my boss because he was sick, but I'm being taken care of on that aspect. I've been in my current position for almost 4 weeks now and alreay he's giving me another promotion in a few weeks. As soon as I've learned a few more minor administrative things, the boss is putting me into the MIT(Manager In Training) program. Wicked!!! Yup, so that's pretty much it, once I'm done with the program, I'll be able to apply for positions in other stores in the company for assistant manager or co-manager....just too bad that my store doesn't have the salary to hold a manager and asst./co manager....bummer!

I was thinking that I could sleep in today, sleep is very much needed these days for me since I've been working so much and I'm finding myself starting to get sick. 9:30am the god damn doorbell rings, WTF??? I'm sleeping and not a happy camper, so I sleepily hobble my way up the stairs to answer the door. It's the Canada Post man and all I could do was smile. My brand new Nixon Mini GTO watch finally came in!!! I'm so happy...screw being pissed about being woken up early, I got my kick ass watch!!!

It's getting kind of crazy at work this last week and a bit. My boss has been super sick and in and out of the hospital for multiple tests(chest x-rays, EKG, blood work, arterial/vein ultrasounds) so I've basically been running the store for him and working an insane amount of hours...so i get 2 days off with pay whenever I want them to make up for it(since the company doesn't pay overtime)...woohoo!!
So today I go into work around 9ish, a little late, so shoot me, I slept in! Out of the 36 cases of merchandise they got yesterday(it was my day off), they left 20 out, I guess my boss and the guy working with him got 13 done during the day which means our night staff only did 3?!?! I checked sales and they weren't really busy at night so there was no excuse.
So I get a call from our district manager in the morning saying to put out all the signs for a new sale that started today, last minute notice...great...I needed to put up 2 ceiling signs, a bunch of shoe display slider signs and tag all the shoes that were included in the sale...on top of the 20 cases they left last night, and the 24 cases we got today(44 total now) and the place has to be immaculate by tommorrow(thursday) because Johnny(our DM) is coming in to check out the store. And of course...we're getting another 20 cases tommorrow too...I sure as hell hope they got stuff done tonight so we don't have overlap stock when Johnny comes in, he'll be pissed!

And to boot, the mall is having their roof repaired since friday, it smells like burning tar and it's on the verge of making me physically ill, i've had headaches for the last 3 days!

Wow, I never would have thought that I'd enjoy my job as much as I do right now. A base pay and then add on commission too? Awesome! And as soon as I reach a sales plateau my commission rate increases, even better!
So this week is my first week in the new key-holder/assistant manager position and already, i'm $900 over said plateau already and I still have sunday to work...this is sounding pretty awesome to me! So I can basically reach my weekly target/plateau in 3-4 shifts and anything I make in the last 1 or 2 shifts is all gravy, I like it, I like it alot!
My boss is also being super nice in training me for the position, teaching me stuff that he normally does so that in a few months, I can have more responsibilities and he can take some of the heavier paper-work days off and I'll do them for him. That, and he also snowboards and surfs and we listen to alot of the same music and we have so much in common...which makes it alot of fun to work with him, we have stuff to talk about...no worries about awkward silences while I'm doing my job!! I'll keep you guys posted on some of the awesome weeks I have!

Wow, I had a kick ass day today! I go into work and had completely forgotten that my boss was off today...yay!! I hate him alot, so that made me happy. I then got a phone call from my boss at my part time job saying he needed to speak to me. On my break, I go speak to Spiro to see what's up...well, our assistant manager walked out during her shift today on him. She's got issues with him because he disciplined her for chatting with her friends too much and telling off a customer, all while we had a mystery shopper in the store who saw/heard everything(she got 10%). So sad when someone can't handle being disciplined for a job that was very poorly done. Whatever, her loss....my gain!! Spiro has asked me to come on full time as his assistant manager until I move down south, which is soo kick ass! So I went out and bought myself a few new cd's as a congratulatory present and I love them.
Then tonight, went to my soccer game, we had just enough players to field a team(shi*tty weather up here tonight, blowing snow and white-out conditions) and we won 5-2, ran my ass off since I had energy out the wazoo from a good day and scored a goal and had an assist....yay, go me!
That's it for now, good night!

So I'm at work today and we're having a kick ass day for sales. My boss is uber cool, he's a snowboarder and punk, we get along really well. I sold almost $1400 in 4.5 hours of working today, in which almost the entire first hour, no one walked into the store. Made double my pay in commission which is awesome because at the moment, I don't have any money to go riding, so this will help!
What could be better than working in a cool store, having a kick ass boss and having a day go by in a flash? New shoes, that's what!! I love these shoes, even after my discount, I still paid a hefty price for them, but so far, they are sooo worth it and feel good on my surgery foot which is what i really need.

Days Riding: Sunday, January 22, 2006
Ok, so I missed out on posting something for my first day out, but this will have to do. Hit up Blue for the first time today and I must say, I had a great time! Caught an edge at one point and totally got rocked, ouch my head hurt big time! It's weird though, because I can usually feel when I'm starting to catch an edge and fix myself, but I didn't even see(feel) this one coming. Had no clue I caught an edge until my head hit the ground basically and then flipped over...shook it off for a few seconds, then got back up and kept going!
And to the skier that decided to run me over getting off the lift, f*ck YOU!!! You sliced my toe buckle and I hate you!! Thankfully the guy at the repair shop was able to temporarily fix it, took the small broken piece out and shaved down the good piece and screwed it in, cost me only 2 bucks!! Now I gotta go out and actually buy a new toe strap...not happy!!

Sorry to rant, but I've got a complaint!! If you are going to stop by a profile, why hide behind your nifty little hidden thinger or why look at it when you're not logged in...and you know who you are!! Don't be such a pussy and just come visit with your real profile in 'online' setting or better yet...don't come at all, leave me the hell alone!! I think you've put me through enough hell to last me a lifetime, so go away!!
Hmmpppph....on a better note, I went snowboarding today and had fun with Mark and Craig...Mark...don't ever wimp out because of a football game! Craig, you're a f*cking trooper man!! Take care of that face of yours!

My New Gear!!: Monday, December 12, 2005
So I've been looking into getting a pair of 32 boots for this season. Went to the Toronto Snowboard Show and tried on a pair to see what size fit me. The 7's were perfect on my left foot, couldn't try the right since I'd had surgery 2 days before. Was re-fitted last week at a local shop and the 7's were perfect. So I was looking for a pair of Lashed, this year or last year, on eBay since you can't beat the prices. Instead, I happen to stumble accross a pair of 2005/2006 32 Vela's in my size...for CHEAPER than the Lashed...what a score!! So for $100 US plus $16.75 s/h, I've got a pair of brand new 32 Vela's coming in the next week or so!! Can't beat a boot like that for a price like that!!
