It seems that winter is here. Calm and cool with plenty of snow. Just arrived back from my second day at Sutton in less than 2 weeks. "Im getting my groove back...literally" is how I feel these days. Like riding a bike, except with no brakes ;)

It is the end of September, and the leaves are a beautiful red and orange color. Time to start picking apples and preparing for the long winter period. Signs that the seasons are changing are more apparent each day that passes. The days get shorter, and the nights are cooler. Time to say bye to summer and welcome the new season with open arms and hope that winter comes along fast so we can jump on our boards and hit the slopes!!!

Spring is just around the corner. Days are getting longer, streets are starting to fill with melted snow. Snow is great up north, packed powder in most places, fresh powder on the sides of the trails where no one likes to venture.

Great weather for snowboarding and just to go out and enjoy the nice weather

Cold is back, snow is on its way. Seems like a long time ago we were complaining about the weather, but now its back to normal. Lets see how long this will actually last though.

Went to Le Massif a couple of weeks back 21st of January. You still noticed some rocks and grass though. Im not sure how it is anymore on the mountains cause I havent got the time to go up anymore. School has been a pain, teachers are incompetent, but we just gotta keep going and not stop until we are happy with ourselves.

Dont know when is the next time I will be snowboarding again. Im just damn happy I got in all those runs during the Christmas break.

Ohh boy will this be a long semester.

Here are some pics from Le Massif Jan. 21st 2007. BIG thanks to the CSSC for organizing a great trip!!! BTW that is the St laurence river.

Today I went back to St Sauveur. It was great conditions, but very long line :P

Yesterday was fulled with fluffy things falling from the sky, and today was all blue, and nothing else. Cool and clear, thats the way it should be in the winter. Of course being that this is vacation week for most of Quebec, it is to be expected that the wait to get up was long, I counted 1 time 15 minutes, might not be that long for some people though, but was definetly alot more than when I went last week.

Looking forward to my next trip up Friday!!! Gonna take advantage of this time off from school before i get reeled back in 2 weeks :D

Merry Christmas to all my fellow snowboarders!!!!

Lets hope that some white gold falls from the sky and brings us lots of pow from santa's house.

But lets not forget that pow is not only whats important. Lets be grateful for what we have, although it isnt 10 feet of pow here in the east,  you should live the moment and be grateful for what we have. Dont forget your friends or your family, cause without them, it could get really lonely at the top of a ski hill or mountain by yourself.

Riding a 10 mile long trail of powder alone is not nearly as fun as riding a 1 mile trail of granular with the people that make you laugh, and cry while you are laughing. And lets not forget how boring the apres ski would be without those people

So today was my 1st time of the season up to a hill. Went to St Sauveur and was pleasently surprised at the conditions. I went with a friend of mine at around 9:00AM and the mountain was ALL OURS!!! The snow guns were going at it full blast and the runs had a decent base. In all I have to say that there are 5 really well groomed runs. The rest is small little runs and transitions between 2 different trails that they like to call trails. Snowpark was somewhat good, consisted of 3 rails and 1 jump, but they were working on a bigger snowpark for the holiday season that looked really nice.

So what did I accomplish today? Well my biggest accomplishment was that I nollied into a tail press!!! The tail press lasted only a couple of seconds but it felt good none the less. I nollied about 1 foot into the air and went straight to a tail press. I was working on basically my ollies and tail presses. Now and then did some nollie. But that 1 nice nollie to tail press felt so goooood, I was on a natural high for the entire day. I think i still am :) Good memories that makes you want to continue snowboarding and to continue pressing forward, even though it is a hard road :)

So my message to all the Quebecers, Montrealers that are looking out the window at the freezing rain that is falling.. DONT LOSE HOPE!!! There are some decent conditions, conditions that I would find anyways during the best winters of Quebec on the hills. You will always find ice spots and you will rarely find powder. If powder is your thing, Quebec isnt the place for it. Not in the Laurentians anyways, unless the night before it snowed and you are lucky enough to make it to the hill 1st and get up there in the morning, cause by the time the afternoon rolls around, ice starts to pop up everywhere. So just be happy with what we got and make the best out of it!!!!

GO OUT AND HAVE FUN!!! Even if it is man made snow....WHO CARES :P Its still snow...AND WE CAN SNOWBOARD ON IT!! So just go for it :)

So until next time!! Keep shredding and remember to bend your knees :)

So I am officially done school...for this semester. Last exam was today and that only means snowboarding and more snowboarding!!!! Great way of spending your day but on the mountain, alone, in "the zone" while gliding downhill, carving and wiping out...great feelings :P I almost miss those bruises...but i consider myself lucky that it never was anything worse than bruises.

Dont get me wrong, I am a very responsible snowboarder, always watching my surroundings, making sure i dont put anyone else in danger needlesly...just common mountain curtousey (another spelling mistake). But when you wipe out, you wipe out...sometimes for no reason at all...or maybe its my noobyness.

So look out for me on the mountains and give me a holla if you recognize me!!!

Well I'm new to this snowboard.com and just feeling this site out and LOVE IT!!! Its a perfect place for snowboarders to meet and share their thoughts and ideas!!!

Being from the province of Quebec there are plenty of snowboarders, but I was unable to get in contact with them UNTIL NOW!!!

Its always nice to chat it up with fellow snowboarders, expecially from the same province with people that go to the same hills as I do (lets face it, what we have in Quebec are hills and very far from mountains :P)

This season will be a big season. I would like to expand my horizons and get to more mountains than the basic St Sauveur, or Morin-Heights, or even Tremblant. I will be heading to Le Massif in January and looking to maybe travel across borders to Vermont or the state of New York to visit more mountains and visit some snowparks.

I would also like to attend some competitions this year. Getting to see new people who have the same passion as I do. Seeing new tricks and getting my feet wet with tricks of my own.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the hills (:P) in the near future.

Tout ceux qui vivent au Quebec and qui font du snow dans les laurentides, donnez moi un SHOUT OUT!!!!
