Jibonk....Cause Snowboarding Is Gnartastical: Tuesday, September 25, 2007
I traveled. Finding that which I did not seek. I fell for it. A Beauty, in all it's grace. Pure glory espoused by timeless sights. Only to be enhanced further towards perfection by the touch of something magical. The addition of such a missed sight was hard to bear. Knowing that it all had to come to an end. I returned to my origin. Then the longing returned. Waiting patiently. It will be here soon as well I thought to myself. But still. It pains to think. There is so much time left. And that place, it was too magical to forget.

The word is......: Saturday, April 07, 2007
So, the world turns and the days go by. Apparently it's been 4 years of university wich means one more snowboard season has come to an end and I'm off to enjoy fall (thats right not spring) in another country south of the equator as part of my final courses. I will be in the north of Chile in an region called tarapaca. We will be doing tourism development work in four cities, pica, cancosa, camina, and mamina. This area is basically one of the driest places on earth and ranges in altitude from 5000 feet above sea level to about 14000 feet above sea level (for a reference the highest lift accessed elevation at whistler is only 7160 feet).  After that I will spend an extra week and a bit in the southern region called araucania (wich is the same weather as B.C. just opposite seasons) doing some extra work for another community. So this is my seasonal hell yah and a information post for those wondering what happened to Justin. See you next winter!

So crazy sports doctor diagnosis on the whole knee pain dealio.....

Patellofemoral Syndrome - A good case of broke knee, literally. some crazy problem where my knee cap
doesnt line up with my femur so it causes pain when my knees are bent or being bent over and over...
aka when sitting, biking, snowboarding, rock climibng, or doing anything else remotely fun or normal.

PLUS - Possible small miniscus tear (what i was worried was the main problem , luckily it isnt cause
its a surgery issue to fix)

stupid knees....

To Do list from doctor :

1. Get x rays
2. get two knees braces  (at 130 bucks a pop.... f*ck man)
3. wear knee braces when doing anything remotely sports like or hard on knees....
4. go to physio and do exercises every day twice a day for eternity....

Thus is life.....

Hooray for no broken bones

Boooooo for soft tissue damage

Damn weak ass muscles and ligaments they should grow some guts or summin///

Doctor: "You will have to take three  to four weeks off from any activity that agrevates the injury"

Justin: "So you mean i can snowboard in two weeks?"

mmmmhmmm.

Phoenix.. can it be any gnarlier. Motley crew hit the slopes. Izzles appeared from no where. My foot tried to leave my boot and binding without permision (stupid edge catching slope of death).

And most of all... i swear i cought a glimpse of the walrus taking a grom looking skier off to what would most likely be a timely and grotesque death at the beasts lair.

So red = rad, whitewater = wicked, what shall phoenix bring.

Skiing in the kootenays seems to be good even without a major snowfall. it's really great to have some elevation and slope involved with the snowboarding.... not ur sunpeaks barely slanted hill shredding. I really do prefer the steep, why did my sphincter just pucker type of shredgnar. And the right temperature.... why can't the interior produce snow like the southeast.... i mean it's cold there too but it just seems lighter here even when its old, used and abused. Phoenix tomorrow, kinda amped, i mean really there is nothing compared to ones home hill even when that home hill has only 800 metres of elevation gain and a t-bar.

Chears and Beers,
.j.
