About Me

I'm a country-bred extreme shredder whom born deaf and I live to skate/snow/surf to show my capability and ability and challenge God's Creation of Land and Sea. Music has evolved into my daily life which by the means is like "fighting depression in ears" kind of way. Two winters ago, I received a cochlear implant surgery who made a big difference in hearing so well and clear....iPod was the next thing in my mind to listen to music like my brain was playing music over and over again. Otherwise got chance to hear the sounds of shredding for the first time in 7 years of snowboarding. iPod and my silver-colored Sony headphones were my second option to improving my new hearing. One thing that a lot of my friends really don't know about is I could lip read while I rock my iPod. Also other thing is I don't know the lyrics by sound but just how awesome they make sounds. My friend wrote down lyrics from "Who Am I" by Casting Crowns to help me know what it says.....it was even more important than listening to it on iPod for how this lyric really meant. Being so involved in things like that drives me to be a role model, mentor, and guru. More importantly, God created and made me to be who I am and how God made this happen. Speaking of music, the snowboard scene has evolved into my life since I was 15 years old and being a Christian goes against the flow  kind of like trying to hike with my 163 Andromeda board strapped on my backpack ascending uphill. Snowboarding has always cultivated an outlaw image  guys and gals in ghetto baggy pants and winter jackets darting like speed-demons through the trees, jumping off cliffs and terrorizing the adults and kiddies as they bomb down the hill. The snowboarding culture  the clothes, the cussing, the attitude, the partying, the drugs and the drinking  tends to be a big draw for teens of both sexes. So God is there to save and teach people through this image.   Yet I stand out by what I don't do. You wont find any piercings on me body  no nose rings, earrings or tongue studs. God created me to be a natural 5'11" 180 pound and wiry human body with no plans of getting tattoos. I dont look down on those who pierce or tattoo; its just not my thing. Neither is cussing or talking dirty. Everyone curses in snowboarding, even the girls. I want people to know that Im a Christian. My motto to everyone even my friends who are out riding "When God is in your heart, it shows in the way you act differently from others."Theres another thing you need to know about me: I'm a virgin. Yes, Im waiting because thats what God wants me to do. I want to give my future wife everything that I have. When you have sex with somebody, you give up a piece of yourself; you can never get that piece of you back. I want to give my future wife a special gift, and that is all of me. Thats why Im a virgin. But you have to understand something about girls. I love them. Theyre rad. I try to stay true and listen and trust God becuase I know he will find me a girlfriend that would get in the way of my relationship with God because God is still working on me. The three most important thing in a girl is honesty, respect, and trust. I do struggle to find a perfect one but the only way to be more patience is that God wants me to worry about girls later and show who I am and impress everyone for what I do. Without God, I would never be succesful at heart and mind. He has made my ability and capability of pushing myself to be the best that I am.

Surfing Day
Current mood: sore

As of Saturday the 28th of April I got up around 7am in the morning to pack for the first surfing day of the season. I was hoping today that there will be a bunch of surfers and good weather. Otherwise I brought two surfboards(one longboard and short board) depending on size of waves. It was pretty chilly morning with no sunrise in sight and I drove off around 7:30 to Florence. Got there around 9. One hour and half drive dude!! Yeah I have a ghetto Honda so no speeding tickets. I got there to South Jetty and was surprised that I was first to show up. Took a look around testing the wind and air temperature. Gotta love the ocean breeze and air. I stripped down all of my clothes except my top layers. Took on my rental wetsuit from Boardsports. Grabbed my longboard and took a short walk down to the water and tested how cold it was. 50-55 degrees I predicted. Same as air temp. Brrr. Took a pause to find the spot to paddle in. Beforehand I have to wet my face to get used to it then head deeper as waves hits me repeatedly. I figured out that the waves weren't flowing as well but against another which makes is harder for surfers to settle with the board. It looked rough and treacherous with too many waves at once I guessed. I grabbed a few for good to get in shape for the season. My body did not panic with water elements which is good becuase I spent a lot of time riding in the winter up in snow. Second surfer who is from Washington came. Then surfed till lunch and headed home. Newport's most popular surf spot Otter Rock could be my next stop to surf next wkend or so. We'll see.
