double backflip
First. You have to be really really good at regular backflips. You should be able to flip large jumps, as well as spin fast to flip off smaller jumps.
If you dont feel comfortable with the idea, maybe you shouldnt try it.Powder if you can, unless your on the east coast like me
1. commitment is huge!!!. If you decided to throw it, you better follow through all the way, or it wont end good. Seriously, this trick is not for noobs. Unless you have like 6 feet of pow to land in, you could mess yourself up pretty good.
I like to throw the first flip a little extra fast. to make absolutely sure my head will clear the knuck on the second flip. Over roating isnt too big a deal, it may hurt a little, but its better than landing on your head from 12 feet. If you realize your spinning too fast, you can push your legs out a little and stall the second flip. If its a small jump, your gonna need to tuck the whole thing. You really need a good amount of air for it.
find a jump that big enough to get it around off, and throw a lot of reg backflips of it. Get comfortable with the idea of dipping inverted for a second flip. If you dont commit after the first, you will most likely keep spinning anyway and come down at 1 1/2= bad news. Make sure if your gonna throw it, keep with the flip all the way through
come at the jump with more than enough speed to clear the knuckle. Throw it just like you visualized it. You come around from the first flip about midway through your flight. dont. If your this far you have to finish it. Look over your head straight back for the second flip. On anything not huge, make sure to stay tucked. Its a wierd feeling starting a flip in mid air. Its not the same upword throw as your regular backflip. You are probably moving outward or started down on your second flip.
Spot the landing as you come around and put out the landing gear. It may take a while to land it.
Try your best to just your speed on the inrun, flip speed, height and everything before. This can save you from underotating and flopping, or over rotating, while giving you the best chance to stick it first try.
Some people go with the better to over roatate than under, adn thats true. But you dont want to be either by much on a jump that big.
DONT TRY IT IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING.
i do mine barrel roll style. That slow you down even more because the jump istead throwing you into your roation. Regular straight backs will be faster.
its all what your comfy with.
