I woke up
Just another day.
Rolled out of bed in time to see
The moon fade away.
Daddy had news, "come sit with me"
I anxiously waited to hear his story.
He inhaled deeply, and closed his eyes.
Then he looked up and me after a long sigh.
"Uncle Sam is calling, I'm leaving my dear.
Please, no crying. It's only a year."
My heartbeat is halted, my breath at a stop.
I'm sixteen years old, he'll miss alot!
I woke up today with hope in my heart.
Now I feel like my world fell apart.
