This is a world in which we strive to find an identity but are told constantly to be tolerant and accepting of diversity.

I first came to sb.com with two intentions: to piss away my time at work but also to learn of alternate perspectives.

I take no pride in saying that i used to dislike anything american.  be it the 'made in america' stamp on a product, even my beloved Vans shoes, or the twang of a seppo accent.

I quickly found that most seppos were as much backward, redneck Bush voter as us Limies are alcoholic footy hooligans with bad teeth and bowler hats.

Despite this change of perspective and despite my efforts to remain consistent and rational in my forum contribution, some choose to define me as a 'liberal' or a 'hater'.  To me, this is amusing but sadly it is an effect of my asking questions regarding issues, that for too long have just been assumed to be closed for the good of the people.
