so here we are.... the waiting that first began back in September last year is almost over.  By tomorrow's end, i will be in the Canadian mountains again.

 

Kinda funny, but despite my travels to Whistler, Fernie and several Frenchie places, i haven't enjoyed a powder day since Cervinia about 3 years ago.

 

What is even weirder is that winter has finally arrived in the UK with a distinct chill in the air this week and snow all over the place this morning!!!  It is as if either my anticipation of BW champagne powder is to be diluted, or perhaps it is just a tangible teaser of good times to come.

 

Either way, a break from trolling around on here, in exchange for sliding around out there is most welcome. 

 

And of course i remain hopeful that those of you who are my 'online pals' enuff to read this drivel, might just scrape together enuff loonies / bucks to come say hello, compare accents and even knock the froth off a couple.

 

If you find yourself in the area, go to The Inn in BW and ask for Paolo.  You would make a limey even happier!!

i am so ball achingly bored.

 

surely there is something i could be doing with my existence, other than searching for ski tip insurance and wishing my life away until Jan 25th arrives?

 

trouble with me is, i'm too bloody good at my job.  my in tray has more dust in it than anything else.

 

still.... i shouldn't complain i spose; at least i wasn't born to be a miner or call center monkey!

 

oh well, in seven and a half days time, i will be out of here like spit thru a trumpet!

 

i better have snowed!!!!

.... and i am doing my best not to swallow my own tongue due to all of the anticipation!

 

i was just thinking, (time zones and day light savings allowing - pay attention Anthony) there might be an opportunity for some of us dedicated sb.com'ers to meet up and share the joys of slide during this trip.

 

and so, to ensure that such liaisons are more likely to successfully arise, would it be an idea for all would-be attendees to reply to this little post, by stating when they expect to arrive and leave, where they would hope to actually meet (on what day, at what time, at the base of what lift, etc) and perhaps even post a foto of their current likeness?

 

i am always late, but my missus is never.... and so no matter where we arrange to shake hands for the first time, we will prolly already be there, busy messing about in the snow.

 

please repond with mugshots and details as appropriate and we might look forward to us all laughing as i stack it!

What do i want to receive?

And so, all i can do is wish the next 14 days of my life away, coz then all i will have to do is endure a 9 hour PSP distracted flight to Edmonton.... and agonising 3 hour wait until i fly to Kelowna and then after a brief bus ride.....

 

16 days of what i am promised will be champagne pow wow!  Not being an uber drinker anymore (my liver is after all, 34 years old today!)  that is the kind of champagne i prefer to celebrate with!

 

 

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!  finally my season begins.....
