About Me

I am the guitarist and lead singer of Distant 2nd.  A mix of NIN, Type O and Linkin Park. Go listen to understand. (www.distant2nd.com)

I ride on anything - ice, powder, park, pipe, dirt, midgets.

My riding style: 60% freeride 40% freestyle. Colorado ruined me to the east coast!

I am bored with jibbing, and think its overdone at most resorts. More wallrides and variable sized jumps please!

My stance:  +21 front, -9 back

Mountains I've rode at thus far:
Mountain Creek (home)
Stratton
Killington
Liberty
Windham
Hidden Valley
Blue Mountain (PA)
Sno Mountain
Bear Creek
Breckenridge
Keystone
Lady Jane (part of Winter Park)
Copper
Hunter

Preferred resorts:
West- Copper
Northeast - Stratton
Local - Blue Mountain (PA)

Odd note: I rode my "beginner" board for 9 years, I still own this board and it is still ride-able. At 167cm, I use it for powder days and glades.

Snowboard related injuries: To date, I have separated my right shoulder, and dislocated my left elbow.

Miracle story: My first time in the glades at Stratton, I thought you were supposed to move fast through the glades, not cruise. Went too fast, speed checked, put my forehead right into a tree.  I only knew I was alive because I could hear my friends laughing at me.  My helmet saved my life. Giro makes solid helmets.

Life before snowboards: I learned to ski when I was 4 years old, did it for about 10 years. Picked up snowboarding about 9 years later, have not had a desire to  pick up skis ever since.

Snowboarding life: On average, I get between 25-35 days of snowboarding in per season. It would be more if the season lasted longer or if I didn't have to work.  Anyone out there want to pay all my bills for me so I can ride more often?

Words of Wisdom

Sh*t, if this is gonna be that kind of party, I'm gonna stick my d*ck in the mashed potatoes!

Exercise the 5th amendment - shut the f*ck up.

My Journal: Wednesday, December 16, 2009
Got out to Hunter for a K2/Ride/DC shop demo.

Parkstar and Turbo Dream are my 2 top picks. DC PBJ was really impressive too, does a lot more outside the park than I expected. Ride Machette was ok too, didn't feel very inspiring though.

Anyway, new season is here, let's ride!

Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday.  I went job hunting and was stuck in traffic all afternoon.  But at least I got a few job leads (4 altogether).  Today I'm just kicking back filling out the applications and turning them in later.  I might possibly go riding tomorrow (thursday).  Let me know if you want to meet up.

The resorts section is back, it's under "More...". Or do you mean something more specific?

Hey man. I can't really say that I'm too stoked about the season. About 2 years ago, I screwed up my knee pretty bad and I'm really hesitant on getting back out there. I didn't go at all last year and that about killed me, so there's no doubt that I'll be out at least a time or two, just gonna take things easy this year. Well, glad you remember me. I'll catch ya later.
