As it stands, it doesn't look like I'll be getting any kind of season pass from MC. Might be limiting my snowboarding to a few trips to Vermont this year

At least get a Triple Play card or two.  Don't make me ride alone!  This could just be my last season!

LOL without a 2nd job, I might not have a car soon. NYS tells me I owe them 6k, no way I have anywhere near that kind of money. I might be relegated to sitting in my apartment, starving to death at this rate.

Raise in season pass price. $10 pre and post season stratton tickets GONE.

Awesome already!

Look on the bright side, MC can afford a 50k chopper by charging us a little more for a seasons...

passes 2 years ago, 200/400
passes last year 200/260
this year 200/300

u cant dish out 40 more? ur still saving 100 vs. 2 years ago. and the most important price - the entry price - is unchanged.

stratton tickets - yeah it sucks, but guess what, MC doesn't control those price. STRATTON DOES.

on the bike, im pretty sure its donated and all proceeds go to charity.

just purchased my creek pass today. i picked up my stratton pass last spring. weeknights i'll ride creek, weekends stratton and any days off for vacation i'll be at stratton. i had a bunch of powder days at stratton last year, i hope this season is as good.
next season if i can't afford both passes i think creek loses out and i get a vermont pass only. i rather ride less days quality over creek and quantity.

You are also forgetting that creek was actually decent 2 years ago! I wouldn't mind paying 200/400 if they actually had snow and took EVERY OPPORTUNITY POSSIBLE TO BLOW SNOW WHEN ITS COLD! Paying $300 to snowboard 3 months out of the year is kinda ridiculous. Especially when they don't open some features (cough cough halfpipe) until the last few weeks of creek being open.

not a bad start so far, snowing in mid october. if its any indicator of the winter coming, we might see some seriously cold temps and hopefully lots of snow

compared to what everything else in life costs these days, a creek pass is cheap, the fact that its been held below 300 since they became "mountain creek" is pretty darn good.    Though when you see the 45minute wait for high speed lifts, you understand how they kept the prices down.

I think yea sometimes bad judgement calls on when to blow snow and when and when not to stay open...  but as far as what they have done with the place, it blows my mind.  Does anyone wanna be taken back to 1995 to Great Gorge and have to pay the same price for double lifts and no parks?

gettin my knee checked out tomorrow, hopefully this season isnt a short one for me

yeah thatd suck dude.

I agree, MC gets knocked around a lot, but its definitely come a long way. I think their only real mistake was making the Appalachian hotel instead of rebuilding a proper lodge at north. those white domes were only supposed to be up for a year or 3.  If they want to make MC look like Stratton, they need to build backwards - make the place enjoyable enough to hang out at that you would WANT to spend the night there.

I think people knock MC because it lost rights to host big comps like the superpipe comp back in 2005 (still weird to see vids with Shaun White and the like rocking the MC superpipe).  I think in time, with the changes made at South/Bear, it'll start getting some love again. TW Snowboarding listed it in their top resorts for night riding this month.

That's cool that TWS still acknowledges MC.

as long as snowboarding exists in NJ i'm sure TWS will acknowledge it, it kinda defies logic these days ;)

Hey, I was just wondering whether anyone knows how to get to Mountain Creek (or any other mountain) from NYC without a car. Is there a bus or train that goes up in the morning or something? I'm going to be in New York for a month and would love to sneak in a couple of rides.

Yeah you can take a NJ transit bus from port authority right to creek actually. Here's a link with alittle more info, and the dates..

Idk whats going on with them but I 100% wasted my time going there. I guess since they were giving out lift tickets everyone took advantage of it. Their was like 300+ ppl there on one trail with one 3 person lift taking people up. Half hour wait in line for literally a 2 second trail. With crowds and crowds of people waiting at each rail.

They most likely just opened to shut people up and to be the "first" open in PA.

Well.. I went last night again. They had a few trails open, I think 5 to be exact. Very small mountain though, ive never been there before but me personally I would never buy a season pass to BB. Makes me appreciate creek alittle better =)

Oh and for the park, they have 12 rails and 1 jump. I guess not that bad for the beginning of the season.. Wayy better then when I went the other day.
