odd, if you get hired now you can always just tell them "i have a family commitment in ottawa on the weekend of the 28th, so i won't be able to work the friday or the monday because of that. i'm really sorry."

we're like your snowboarding family.
also, i think the drive from tremblant to hamilton on the sunday would be a bit much after snowboarding all day. but that's me.

By the looks of things I'll probably be picking up a shit job this week. All the plumbers I've talked to so far have fuck-all for work and aren't hiring. Futureshop/sportchek, here I come. Best believe I'd rather spend time with my snowboard family. I'll see what I can swing, and if not, I'm sure I can bus it back to toronto. I hate being the one tied to responsibilities.

I got my dakine pro II pack today in the mail, and naturally the first thing I do is shove all my gear into it. You know how girls buy stuff then try it on at home in the mirror with their other clothing, yeah, that's me and my gear. Bummed I cant board with you guys, that's for sure.

All I'm missing now is a probe, shovel and beacon, but I think I'll wait till I move for that stuff. I mean, the only backcountry gear you need in the EC is running shoes for them grassy areas, right?

Matt and I are discussing the possibility of us going to this.. but he's also playing Halo so the conversation is taking forever. Anyway, so IF we go, we both have to work Friday.. so we'd be heading out there in rush hour traffic Friday night (or maybe we'd wait a bit and get there at the same time with less time on the road). And we both have to work Monday, so we wouldn't be able to go to Tremblant on Sunday, but we might hang around the 'wa for the morning/early afternoon and then head back.

If we go. But there's still a few weeks to decide soooo yeah.

Buy stuff I made because I'm awesome!

Ali, worst comes to worst You and Matt, me and the wifey can all go out for a late breakfast early lunch if all of the rest of them are up at Trembs..(and perhaps have Alex as a 5th wheel)

I think getting a few drinks / skating on the canal / art museum would work for the friday night. Hit up Cascades on saturday, then Saty night head to the Perron Perriard Palace of Poonani party for some poonani party at the Perron Perriard Palace.

hrrrrmmmm... redundantly Tongue twistered redundency anyone?
I'll probably be working the friday and monday nights (4-midnights) but am free as a Young adult in the Never Never land ranch after that.

And then Sunday, you Suckah MC's can hit up Trembs whilst some of Us double date (perhaps with Alex as a 5th wheel) and then some of us meet you guys when you return from the land of The Expensive Day.

Perhaps I need sleep right now.
I do concure.

(So does the T.V... and as we've learnt, T.V is always right. HUZZAH!)

That sounds like a good plan actually. It'd be cool to see Alison and Matt again too, and ride with them. I have to get my "fuck off" muscles working again though if we're riding during the day at Cascades on Saturday. I can guarantee you that ski school will try to get me to teach. I can ride incognito but that's difficult since everyone recognizes my pants (dammit, my plan backfired).

Alright, well I bumped my docs appointment to 11:10 on the friday, so I should be fine to get going for 12-12:30.
Sportchek is taking applications, futureshop isn't.. damn! I'd rather work at a tech place if needs be, I don't need to buy anything else sportingwise.

alison you definitely should go if you can!

yeah.. buy stuff for your friends and charge a 'handling fee'.... wonder if they'd just fire you or press charges... hmmm...

anyways, that latest plan sounds pretty fun actually.  So the question now is do we need a hotel for one or any nights?  not a problem if we do.. i hate to intrude on anyone and it looks like we'd have enough people that we could cram and sleep for 20 bucks or so...

But see, you're probably gonna spend money regardless on gear. May as well spend less when you can. I.E Pro-deal.

doesn't mean you HAVE to buy stuff. :D

ummm... I forget what my point was going to be..

something about rooming.. hrmmm... Oh yes.
I pitch tents.
and my floor is stiff ;)

But yeah.. like I said before.. I have room. My couch is broken :(
But we have a big floor.
Enough room for a tent or two..
Or even just a bunch of sleeping bags (I know, it's not fully romantic)..

I think Marco has room though...

...in his pants.

I wasn't even aware that sportchek employees could get in on the pro-forms.. I thought all the real companies just laughed at them.

Sport Chek is part of the Forzani group, and the Forzani group has a pretty large hold in putting money into the pockets of companies.
You probably won't get things like Volcom and Stepchild, but Burton, Solomon(bonfire) and every other brand they carry.

Difference is, they will only ship med to low quality products for the store, but the pro-forms allow you to get everything.

May come in handy if I wanna pick up a rocker board and auto evers.. hmm.
I've got a friend working at the sportchek part time, I could get her to throw in a good word for me.
I think we strayed from the intent of this thread though.

Nothing is ever really "strayed".

Regardless, Atleast if you work in the sportcheck, you'll be fairly well knowledged in the snowboard section..
That's what I did atleast when I worked at Intersport (another Forzani Group store).

I'm really trying not to bother with a shit job though, I talked it over with some family friends and figured that unless I do an evening shift, that time would be better spent making calls. I really want to get some more hours under my belt, even if it means I gotta do a bit of travelling.
