oops yeah DUI.
so, wanna hear a funny story? yeah you do! okay so...
this morning I was getting ready to head to the slopes. I was running late to meet the gang so I figured i'd drive to the slopes. it was freaking cold today (-20 on the slopes, without wind chill) and so when i got to my car, the doors were frozen shut. I managed to get the drivers door open, and to put all my gear into the passanger side. I then close my door and accidently hit the 'lock all doors button'... no biggy... i go to start the car, and the ignition key thingy is froze. So i'm like, whatever, i'll just walk and be late. So i unlock the doors, and nothing. I manually try to do it. Still nothing. Great i think , I have just managed to lock myself into the car. Nothing like frozen locks. so, lots of fighting, climbing over seats, swearing and kicking later (8minutes to be exact) I finally manage to get the back door open and emerge from the car.
I laugh it off, thinking that i wish there was a hidden camera in the parking lot so that someone could laugh at my stupidity. I then decide to take the path throught the back of the houses to same 10minutes of walking. After 5 minutes, i realize i have no idea where i am going, and as i turn around, i see a guy coming down. I make some stupid comment about being lost, and he helps me back to the road. Had a great conversation with him... if you call asking someone to please repeat what they said after every sentence because their accent is soooooooo thick.
I get to the slopes and think, yay i'm snowboarding this is going to be a great day, so what if it started out a little rough.
so we're on the peak to peak, and I fucken hate heights... so of course, the stupid thing stops for like 10 minutes while hovering about fitsimons creek.... i was so panic-ed that even the strangers on the gondy were making fun of me. But, i just laughed it off and said you know, it just really isn't my day..i'll deal with it.
so then i get home, and my sister calls.... and i know why she is calling, so i ignore the phone. After many calls from my parents and her, I finally think, this day is pretty crappy already, just get it over with. So they tell me that my aunt passed away yesterday. I knew it was going to happen, but i was hoping she could hold out until I got to see her next week.
and for some reason, when my sisters where on the phone with me crying, i was like, i know what will cheer you up... and i started my story " this morning I was getting ready to head to the slopes. ........"
now, i'm off to a staff party to drink away the rest of the day! yay booze! i have a bottle of Malbec wine with my name on it, and Mireille already offered to carry me home if needed!
What a day.
