Well you sound like a girl so thats probably just a ploy to get me to show you my dick.  Seriously if you're getting sprayed you probably deserved it.  Stay out of the way and you'll stay dry.

Right, like you have a dick.....

Fuck spraying skiers, at least they are true to their roots.  Found myself with the uncontrollable urge to spray every posuer snowboarder yesterday.   I was in Penn all wknd  at Camelback, and I have always felt the snowboarding scene at camelback was primarily kids who thought it would be "cooler" to snowboard than ski and that most of the riding is not skate or surf influenced and they might as well ski (you know what type of rider I am talking about).  Anyway there were plenty of kids who got it and being that I only ride there a handfull each season, witnessing actual rippers was rare.  Which leads me to yesterday,  I come home to my home mountain Mountain Creek.  And what do I see...at least 10 Chris Bradshaws,  8 Andreas Wiggs,  a few Danny Kass, and a shit load of Shaun White impersonaters.   All of them rocking the newest gear and swarming to the slowest tripple chair on the east coast to make a few turns on the only trail open on the north side of the mt.   I have been riding Creek as a pass holder for over 13 years and I think I am done with it.  I wanted to spray every poseur I saw.   Anyway at least South is open just wish they would kick that 12 o'clock open time.  It sucks for guys like me who want to get on the hill at 8 or 9.  In summation,  What has happened to snowboarding?

So you're saying because they dress like their favorite riders they aren't allowed to enjoy snowboarding?  Would they all be ok if they were wearing dorky ass tight clothes tucked into their gloves and boots?   I've been a seasons pass holder for 10 years now and when I see all these 12 and 13 year old kids rocking out in this type of gear brings me back to when I was a kid trying to rock it like craig kelly and peter line.  Let the kids be kids...it's the asshole adults that need to get smacked.

your right,  in the case of kids,  but these were not kids these were full grown poseur men  definately out of highschool.  and I looked and dressed and emulated the styles of my heroes from the gear to their actual riding style , that is not what I was trying to say.  Guess I just ranted and rushed what I was talking about.  Rock what you want and act how you want and ride how you want to ride, that is what this whole thing is about.   Just dont drop money on gear and expect to be a legit rider.  and if you can actually tell me that we dont have an abundance of rich kids flashing new gear and repping themselves hard when they cant even link turns because their stance width is 26 inches and they are 5'6".   So I was wrong to put everybody in one category, but for the posuers out there, there is no excuse and we know who you are and Im sure they know they are fucking fakes as well.

It seems like being a poseur is more accepted now in snowboarding because of how much it has grown.   now all you have to do is buy the best gear and dress the part and no one will give you a hard time.  You try that shit at a local surf break or a good skate spot and I gaurantee you wont leave that day with out a new found clarity of what you are trying to fake.  That is what has happened to snowboarding.

Oh I agree with you frank. I skiied for nearly 12 years before I had the ambition to try out snowboarding. Now I won't go back because I love the community and the feel of the board. I have nothing against people with good gear that is learning to board, I was there, I was that guy at one point. However those 16-20 year olds that rep the matching pants/jacket or a hoodie with the mirror goggles and the top line gear that can't make it down a run, can't finish a 10' rail sitting a foot above the ground, or can't land the 10' jump - BUT STILL THINK THEY ARE THE SHIT.. now that annoys me. And these guys typically travel in groups, so if you really must spray, aim for these packs.
Chances are they can't chase you anyways.

Now I wouldn't fuck with the sole guy wearing a goretex jacket fully zipped up, pants that fit, goggles suiting the weather, and a board that's so worn you can't even see the logo. He's the one that will likely catch up to you and smack you around.

Now I sport a 686 jacket and a hoodie, pants that I got on clearance a size too big, mirrored goggles, and last season's gear, but I'm no Terje or T-Rice, and I know that. So don't spray me!

Meh. I'm not too particular when it comes to gear.  Buying new gear every year IMO is overrated. I love hoodies, masks made from the sleeves I cut off my hoodies, walmart/target $2 hats and just ridiculous attire.  I got some great 686 smarty pants but they're my work pants, so I just rock those on my days off.  I MIGHT buy a jacket, if and only if 686 allows me to log into the proform site. If not, I'll just go to the thrift store and find a starter jacket.

Spray me if you want, but, when I spray you, it'll be a hurricane.

I never really understood all the fuss about skiers vs snowboarders.
I've skied untill I was 14 (for about 9 years) and
I understand that some skiers are complete asshats, thinking they own the mountain and all snowboarders are the kind of guys who just ruin the slopes/rest of the mountain.

On the other hand you've also got a bunch of snowboarders who hate skiers, just cause they ski. Now I might be wrong here, but imo this just displays a complete lack of any intelligence.

Why can't skiers and snowboarders just get along?
I'm one of the few guys in a group of friends who snowboard, and sure we fuck around abit about skiing vs snowboarding, but why would we, or anyone else, start flaming cause someone else likes a different sport?

Would be like soccer players and basketball players hating each other, just cause they're different sports.

Eh, I got not beef with skiers. Some of my good friends are skiers. It's just some skiers and by some, I mean most, are totally oblivious to the fact snowboarding made skiing cool again.

i am an equal sport hater, i hate all people who are retarded

the thing that i hate the most is when people bring lil kids in the park that are trying to learn how to RIDE, not hit jumps or rails but ride down the mtn

and honestly, all of those people are skiers, thats why snowboarders hate skiers, if u ask any freerider if they dont like skiers they will prolly say no, but the majority of park rats have multiple occasions w/ the dumb shit skiers do in the park (and usually its the adults doin the dumb shit and by adults i mean over 30)--kids on skis even if they dont kno what they're doin are usually cool tho

idk what it is w/ people but i guess the signs on the trails saying PARK ONLY dont apply to these people bc they just like to freeride down and rut the place up

and finally, u know what the dumbest shit is, bc these people go in the park the park crew actually made part of the park  like a separate trail, i.e., it groomed it lower than the rest of everything else, if those peopel just rode the rest of the mtn there would be no need to do that

i do have skier friends tho 2, i think everybody does

Some skiers are just pricks, period. Most are just chill like anyone else, but some just like to act like skiing is the apple computer of winter sports and get all snobbish and talk down on boarders as if they still dominate the snow. The ones who are assholes also tend to blatantly cut in lift lines, cut through your jump line.. they just cut whatever they damn well please like they own the mt. That kind of attitude doesn't belong anywhere. So what do you do about it? Spray them of course.

BTW, I sprayed a ski mom today for cutting in front of me one too many times. The kid was cute and all, but shit, I'm not paying lift money to babysit some kid forced onto kickers.

so dressing like a hobo makes you a better snowboarder?

do you use a bandana tied to a stick as a backpack?

I never said that.  My post doesn't even reflect that attitude.  It's -1 today, I'll most likely wear my bonfire puffy; if I can find some duct tape to fix this hole to stop the feathers from flying out.

I'm just over the whole 'daaaaamn did you see Volcom's 09 sheeet! Gotta get me some of that' vibe in snowboarding.

Im totally on mfm side for that .Its the best way to make them think that they r fvcking douchebags and they need to stop that. People doing that kind of stuff in the park should be turboblasted. But where i ride people dont do that kind of stuff. Not all people are retarded...

If you think people *stopping* at a jib element is bad, try having them sit down and have lunch for half an hour.

Picnic Table

"Oh look, someone set up a picnic table for us! We can't really work out what that little spraypainted heap of snow right before it is for, but let's have a seat!"

I swear I wanted to still hit that table and clear their lunch out but I figured I'd let them sit there and makes fools of themselves instead..
