So in the world wind of me getting my shit together I never made mention that I'm officially gone! I'm currently in a hostel in Buenos Aires at 1 AM. Its raining outside  and has put a damper on things for the evening so I'm hanging out. Saturday I leave for Mancchu Picchu and then head towards Iguazu falls.

Let me tell you trying to figure out a payphone in a foreign language is quite daunting. HA!

Anyways I'll check in on you guys when I can but don't expect much in the way of posts or commentary. I hope everyone is enjoying their winter. I'm missing shredding already, but I'll be in the mountains hiking soon enough.

I figured out when I was traveling in Asia this past summer the best way to communicate is through email.  I Even used the internet for sending msgs to cell phones because during the months I was there I never managed to figure out the pay phone thingy...   i spent lots of time, energy, and money trying though...

Hey everyone! I am currently in Mendoza Argentina having some downtime. I'm catching a bus to Bariloche at 8pm so I'm chillin' in a hostel trying to get things sorted out for Europe. Flying to Germany on the 19th from Buenos Aires and then I'll be in Europe until the end of August.

Anyways thought I would let you guys know what I've been up to. In the last month I partied in Buenos Aires like there was no tomorrow, slept in the Santiago airport on my way to Cusco, did the Inca trail and got altitude sickness from climbing 800m in less than 4 hours with 22kgs on my back. Made it to Manchu Picchu and the view from the valley on the Inca trail is amazing at 6:30AM. I flew back to Buenos Aires and took a 22 hour bus ride to Puerto Iguazu to see the Iguazu falls. The buses in South America are amazing! Their seats in executive class (which is dirt cheap) lean back to 180 degrees! They are very similar to airport chairs.

The falls were incredible, so much better than Niagra. Then I went to Cordoba for 3 days to chill out and check out what a university town in Argentina would be like. Now I am in Mendoza and in three days I have toured wineries and had free wine for an entire day! Trekked in the Andes and rapelled 45m down a sheer cliff face. Yesterday I went to Aconcagua provincial park and saw the highest peak outside of the Himalayas from 39km away.

I'm going down to Bariloche and down to Patagonia in the next couple of weeks and to head to the southern most town in the world - Ushuia. I'm getting a stamp in my passport at the post office that says "end of the world" It is the southern most landmass in the world next to Antartica.

Hope everyone's winter up north is going well. I'm sad I'm not riding, but with me getting to Germany in mid to late feb. I might be able to make it over to the Alps to get at least one day of riding in.

Cheers guys! Oh and sorry no photos online, and photo uploading still sucks so I can't share some of the photos. Just have to wait until I get back to Canada!

Yeah pretty sweeeet - my dream is similar - but I am doing a year of traveling with my buddy (who might back out) but to start in Winter in USA and ride all year long from U.S to Europe to Asia and then back via the southern hemisphere

Good luck buddy

For sure! I live  4 hours south of Auckland near  Mt Ruapehu, so you and your buddy are most welcome to use my place as a base or whatever...so much to do around here....and I'll get that slack arse Cris in on the job as well!

Hey Kyle,

Yep, I'll get my "slack ass" in to gear, when you come down here. I'm living in Sth East Auckland (Howick), at the moment, so pending your arrival, I could be (hopefully) living back down at Lake Taupo, which is about 100km from the mtns (Mt Ruapehu). You'll love it down here, & looking foward to meeting another sb.com'er

Hey everyone! (well who ever is left, it seems like this place is pretty empty these days)

I finally got around to having some time off and figured I would update those that might want to know. Looking at the last post I made I was in Argentina which seems like a long time ago and a faraway place.

I've been tramping around Europe for the last 4 months. Frankfurt, Berlin, all over the Netherlands, Paris, all over Spain, all over Italy and then back to Frankfurt again. Saw a ton of art and architecture. Got pissed with the catholic church some more haha. Went to a few incredible shows. Have shot close to 10,000 photos and have edited them down to 2,000ish awesome photos. None of which are available online, yet.

Oh also! I got engaged. My girlfriend flew over and met up with me in Paris and we spent two months touring Spain, and Italy. We stayed in a 2 room bungalow in a small town south of Sorrento in Italy that overlooked the sea. After a boat tour around the island of Capri we cooked dinner and just before we did the dishes I popped the question.

Now I'm back on my own and headed for NZ. My trip is being cut short because Italy likes to rape its tourists in the wallet big time.

Hope everyone is doing well, and having a good summer.
