I just turned 40 (today), but I'm not letting that stop me, or slow me down, for my up-coming season. I don't ride kink rails as much, but I'll stiill hit the boxes, step-ups/downs, hips, half pipe...& the odd groomed run, if I feel daring!!!

Can I chime in with a totally different angle? I don't know what the fascination with boxes and rails and all that jib shit is. I go out to the snow-covered mountains to ride on the snow, not scrape across a bunch of metal trash strewn about the slope. I get the jumps...always been a part of the sport. But why are so many snowboarders (and especially the damned magazines) so obsessed with sliding down a cement staircase or a steel box?

I know, I know...to each his own. Obviously, that's not my thing (although I had some wicked fun runs through the park at Bromley yesterday), but it's almost as if us regular ol' mountain riders are considered less than snowboarders. I mean, look at any magazine...90% of the pics are of guys riding off a rooftop or hitting a rail. I'd love to see surf-style pics of people carving the shit out of some big steeps.

But that's just me. Rant off.

I live in Ontario, I'd like to learn park riding due to the lack of a real mountain.

exactally...  only problem lately, is that glen eden's landings are just as hard as a staircase... might as well be learing urban riding!
