Being an avid Ultimate Frisbee player...we had our town's end of the season Halloween Hat Tournament on saturday. Everyone has to wear a costume....I came as the Honorable Senator from Idaho, Larry Craig (R-eally not gay)...complete with Minneapolis St Paul men's bathroom stalls:
 Snowboard - Larry Craig -

Sadly...I didn't win the costume contest...I was beaten by a friend dressed in all black and sooty with a roof/shingle hat...he was dressd as a malibu home....and the woman that won it all...dressed up as a boob. One big tit. Even had a camelback in the boob so that the nipple could squirt 'milk'. No way can a (not) gay senator compete against a boob...not even a fair fight...

Got my Day One in...about 300 vert feet of bozo turns in the screaming wind.
Enjoyable just to be out in the snow though.

Mostly it was an excuse to check the gear out and make sure everything was OK. Sure enough...I forgot about a broken rivet in one of my boots, and while it didn't effect my day much, I still took it in to get fixed. No one likes hiking with ol' clicky mc squeaky boot.

^^^ I left you a comment on your pro.  Looks nice....we need some snow here.  Mt.Hood Meadows had mentioned opening up on Nov. 16th but that's not gonna happen due to lack of snow.  Like Kill said...hate these late starts.  I'll just be happy to be able to ride on Christmas Day.  :)

We're getting a storm now...but if it warms and doesn't keep snowing...we'll be back where we started. Oh well...everything in time...and it will evenutally get there...just might take a bit longer then usual. Gotta have patience when you're relying on the weather for fun.

I'm kinda bummed out.  No snow and all we get here are North dusty winds.  Even a little rain would be welcome.  My wife had HD hooked up to the tely last nite and not a single fishing channel in HD, what is the world comin to.  Things are about to change, Quail season starts tomorrow I've taken the day off and I hear Dick C. has to work.
Ult, my nephew let me know that the fishing pics were posted yesterday.  I think his picture should be dated the 11th.

A link to see them? I'd like to see all that tuna...

And come on...Dick C. never works...unless it's in his evil lair...

Good luck with the quail...

Nice fish...not sure which shot is your friends/family...but some of those piles of fish were pretty impressive. That Mako shark...lot's of smaller sharks...

What are the red fish? The tuna are the gray ones right?

The picture for the 11th was my nephews group.  The gray ones that look like torpedoes are the black fin tuna.  He said he caught the only yellow fin of the trip which was smallish.  The black fin they caught weren't real big either, 5-15lbs.  The red fish are red snapper which are excellent raw or cooked about any way you want.  There are a couple large amberjack hanging, about 70 pounders, and they are really taste.  There are a few bull dolphin hanging also.  Dophin the fish not the mammal also called Mahi Mahi or Dorado.  There are several rainbow runners on the left not as tasty as the others.  His picture has the most fish but it was the longest trip, 80 hrs.  The long trips usually catch lots of yellowfin so they were dissappointed in that.  They can run over 200 lbs.

Keeping my streak alive of my area's first chair of the year...countless years running at this point:

The view of the small group of folks that wanted to be early:

That was two weekends ago. this weekend I was able to ride one of my favorite lines 'first'. The ski patrol, this time of year, has 'sign out' runs at the end of the day...sign a waiver and then get to do a 'closed' run. I had done a bunch the previous days, but last sunday it was time to go into 'the bowls'. We got to go down West Bowl...one of my favorite runs. Sadly...ski patrol had already gone down it to put up hazzard bamboo around rocks and what not..leaving lame traverse tracks eveywhere. Bastards!!!

Either way...it was still a great run and this was my view from the top, I rode the line to the left of these rocks:

Hope everyone's areas are filling in and starting to open up!!

You mean the above picture of the skier in deep powder? It's not of me...it's of a friend.

I'm gonna be up at Ski Santa Fe tomorrow trying out my new Ride Decade. So if anyone wants to say hi or hang out, I'll be the one wearing the all red zip up suit.  The suit in my mug shot.

Nothing wrong with carving groomers...as long as it's not your whole life's reason to ride...getting up early to get the fresh cord and all. And if it is...great...glad you've got a life calling. I just tend to think that life calling is boring. If there's one thing I enjoy about it...it's leaving *deep* trenches. Some day I'm gunna spot a kid wallowing in one of mine.

Nice shot Ale...shredawg...nice and low, bro. I think if you drive with your shins and extend yuor knees you'll get even lower...but I'm not very good at teaching or carving in general...so what do I know. I just know I get an evil happiness when I see beginners dodging my trenches below one of our lifts.
