Hey Jeff, how was your summer?  I've been working on the new house I bought.  Keeping me away from the rock dang it.  The Backcountry resorts should start opening soon.  I'll keep ya informed when they do.

Summer has been good.  Lots of work, lots of wakeboarding/wakesurfing.  Headed to Powell for one more weekend with the boat.  I have to admit though, I am getting ready for winter.  There is a chance for some snow tonight.  And the color on the trees has been incredible this last week.

Congrats on the house and I would love to do a Berthod day this year if we can work it out.  I've been a few times, but not with anyone who know it all that well.

Sounds like a good summer to me.  I am sure we can work something out for Berthoud.  I've been eyeing Utopia on Vail Pass.  Definitely planning a day or two that direction this season.

I didn't feel this was cool enough to make a topic on, but I'm literally stuck at 29! At least on sb.com. My b-day occurred when the site was down and I think it missed it, so my profile still says 29. Living in denial for the win!
Would you like to buy a vowel?
Nope. I'm heading over to colonies.com!

OK, so it has been two weeks since anyone posted in Chat and nearly a month since a regular has said anything in here!

SO... I suggest a roster.  The five of us still on here take every fifth day and are responsible for posting something - anything!  You can do like the US congress during a filibuster and read from dictionary.com, or copy a post from TOS (oops, sorry.), or go through the archives and pull out your funniest "Joe quote".  But you have to log in and post.  This is a big commitment - so don't step up until you've thought hard about keeping it.

I can only commit to one day a week. I need an actuall day, not some rotating every fifth day thing. If you can come up with 7 people or another way of doing it, then count me in.  6 people with everyone having sunday off would be good, but I am not working Friday or Saturday(well, maybe, but I will probably be lit).

oh yeah... WELCOME todd and broham!!!

Warning Not snow boarding and it may not be my day to post.  I'm gonna whine a little about state taxes.  I got hit with a $260 fine because I underpaid through the last year. I mailed it in April.  Most of it was interest.  Today I got a check for $240 due to an overpayment of last years taxes.  Why does this confuse me?

Shouldn't they mail back the $2900 tax + the $260 fine I mailed in April?

Elect Bill Richardson and he'll solve it by taking it late at the federal level instead of the state.

You think you've got tax problems, wait until you retire and do a little consulting on the side. Then you have earned income, interest income, and (soon) Social Security income. You have to file estimated taxes on the consulting income and interest income, and some of the Social Security income (the contributions for which were paid from after-tax income, remember) is taxable. And you have to pay estimated taxes on each of these income streams quarterly throughout the year at Federal, State and local levels. You sure need a good accountant to keep everything straight, and heaven help you if you earn more than you estimated when you paid your estimated tax bill. It's almost enough to persuade you not to take any new consulting assignments that will boost the income. And it will only get worse in 2009 when Hillary is President. I'm sure I'll give up my consulting then.

So we hiked up Vail today.  The snow has been falling heavy since yesterday afternoon.  We went straight up Prima.  1950 steps.  Luckily my buddy broke trail most of the way.  Face shots on the way down.  It's still snowing.

Not really a board recommendation as much as passing on some art work he'd 'freak' over.

You know how those deadheads get...once they've hooked into something...they don't let it go. From Jerry to other bad bands...they can't get enough of that jingle jangle noodle music...might as well have an ugly, stereotypical Deadhead board (that's to big for you) too. ;-)

Starting at the top, you could probably make one *big* turn on that thing and be at the bottom of Labrador 'Mountain'....before you've even started initiating the next turn.

It's known as the "Ostrich" stance.  Perfect for sticking your head in the snow...
