I have an option freeplus 159 with rome targas (originally had burton missions but they are useless with this board-no where near stiff enough) and DC Judge Boots. I am 63kg (around 140lb) which is around 5kgs under the recommended minimum for the board. After some interesting times learning on the board I'm finally feelling comfortable on it (only spent a total of 19 days on the slopes...the problem with living in Australia). Do you guys reckon I should get a shorter (or one more suitable to my weight) board and if I do will I notice a big difference? I don't get any gear demoing opportunities and i mainly ride freeride with the occasional mess around in the park.
That's definitely a big board for you. I definitely think a smaller board even a 156 would have been a better choice. Alot more control and more suitable for park riding. A 159 for you would be your backcountry pow board.

Ride dose 159 (comes in about a week)
K2 Indy bindings
burton moto boots (originally salomon brigades, needed a smaller boot)

So even though it would be quite the case of overkill if I were to buy a new board, what would you guys suggest if I did end up getting a new one?

07 Ride Yukon 163 board
07 Ride Delta bindings
06 Burton Boxer boots
The entire packaged cost me $590. I think I did well.
I'd be pleased, too. Did you have to haggle?
I got my buddy to pro form it for me. I floated him a few bucks and that was what the final price. I almost bought the had this set up.
07 Burton Baron ES
07 Burton Cartels
06 Burton Freestyle binding for $640-$680. Shay totally took a shit on that idea and thats how I came up with the ride.

snowXsurf631 sweet, yeah I can't wait till i get to shredd on my new board
So have you tried it out yet? I just rode my Solution for the 2nd time today and absolutely love it! It's last year's 158, but it's the exact same as this year's. Anyway, it's such a fun board... and alot faster than I expected. Great for all mountain riding, and soft enough to take in the park if you want. Let me know how you like your's after you get to take it out.

My set-up:
154 Rome Machine
Burton Cartels
Burton Hails
I ride mostly park/freestyle and so far it's treated me well. I can't really compare to anything else because this is my first board, I know it's about 100x better than the the rental boards.

Just got a new setup, well minus the boots.
Board: 156 Burton Custom X
Bingins: Burton Cartel
We'll see how these hold up. I do a little of everything.
