Yarrr! I think I'm gonna pick up my jacket/pants this weekend. Do you guy's happen to know when the show is as well?
The one at Snow Valley is on October the 15th and it costs $2 a person or a can of food to get in. If you have gear to sell then bring it in on October the 14th and pay $1 for any accessories and $2 for any hardgoods or clothes.
The Edmonton Ski & Snowboard show is on October the 28th and 29th and by far is my favourite
Edmonton Snowboard Show If you want to sell stuff at that swap you have to bring your stuff down to the Edmonton Ski Club. Items can be dropped off between October 23 to 26 for $2 an item. However you only get 80% of what the item sells for.

Nice to meet you, Alltee. I've got a great fucking feeling about this season. I'm thinking mild weather with lots of snow.

Slaughterhouse I wish our mayor had a head like that hamburger guy from McDonalds (Mayor McCheese?). That would be really good when the munchies hit. The wife says what the fuck does this comment have to do with anything in this thread but I think it's relevant.

Some time irrelevant is totally relevant. Tangents are good for discussion.

jr_barns I wish I remembered enough about Kimberley's geography to tell you the secret spot my friend Josh and I found a few years ago. I was at the U of A at the time and we went there on a school trip. We cut a trail through the woods and found that about 200 feet in, it opened up to a huge clearing with waiste deep powder (on just an average snow day). We spent the entire weekend there (we called it the magical land of Narnia). It was inside the boundaries of the resort, I know that much, so find yourself a riding buddy and go exploring... and bring lots of water.
Wow, waste deep powder! Good advise on the water and riding partner. That is serious Canadian quicksand!

jr_barns Yeah, i almost bought it once at Panorama because I trecked off on my own. I nearly passed out from exhaustion in the woods somewhere. Fortunately I found my way back but it was pretty hairy at one point. I kept imagining the wolves were just in the tree line waiting for me to die... good times.
Totally, and the strangest thing is you sometimes would never imagine that happening at places like Panorama, and yet it does. On the last weekend Marmot Basin was open last season, quite a few of the runs were shut down for the year. So I decided to unstrap my board and cut through the trees under the lift to one of the open runs. I usually keep a level head but this time I was in a near panic sinking up to my chest just a few feet in and nobody anywhere near to hear me yell (we all know how dead Marmot can get at times). So instead of even trying to yell I just kept a level head and hauled my ass out using saplings and branches. If I would have been a few more feet in they would have likely found me in the spring when the snow melted. But nothing makes a beer taste better than a hard days work.
