Hey dan, ya I worked with monkey for like 2 nights. Prety cool dude and good at his job.
My name is Kyle and my feonsays is Ashley
Monkey is hardcore; sort of insane but if you listen to what he has to say he will give you some really neat pointers. He always used to give me good advise on my riding and really helped things along. It was really weird at first when he suggested I take off my toe straps when I ride (notice Monkey has no toestraps at all, and hasn't worn them for almost 4 years). Then I found that when I didn't wear toestraps in the park (especially off jumps and boxes) my stability increased 100%. The reasoning behind that is to avoid the subtle and unconcious lifting off the toes. Now when I ride park I simply leave the toestraps undone and hanging off to the side (usually getting weird looks from the line, lol).

360shocker haha ya. I had to scramble to scrap my windows yesterday to catch the bus. Then when I come home it was way to hot for the hoodie I was wearing.
I remember two seasons ago at Sunridge, around Christmas. Monday the temperature is around -12 so I wear a pull-over snowboard jacket instead of my Redstar. Tuesday the temperature drops to -29 Celcius with a windchill of -36 Celcius and they actually kept things rolling right along, and of course I nearly freeze my balls off. Wednesday I load up my car with everything from balaclavas, gauntlets, a severe weather wool base layer, 3 jackets which included a hoodie etc. The temperature hits -3 Celcius and I'm down to riding in my base layer wishing I could just take the shirt off as well without looking like a narcissist. Then thursday it plunges right back down into the -30s and finally they decide to shut down operations. Friday they are open again at a balmy -23 Celcius.
When I go snowboarding now my trunk looks like a closet.

I hope this year is like last year.
Snowboarding with a sweater on is amasing.
No doubt, eh! I'm actually looking around for a new sweater to replace my ratted out old one. I really like how the heat really doesn't build up in sweaters because of the holes between the knit while at the same time sheds melting snow from an awesome day at the hills. Mobility improves and if it becomes too much you can always tie the sweater around your waste. Actually blows hoodies out of the water.
I just got my new Sunridge passes in and they are pretty wild. They are swipe cards that have your picture printed on them. Makes me wonder if eventually they are going to set it up like the resorts where you need to slide your card every time you go up. I can't imagine that lasting more than a day.

I bought the family pass for $450 + GST which is good until October 9th. They offer pretty good discounts (25% off) at Kicking Horse, Big White, Marmot Basin, Mount Washington, Sunpeaks, and Apex. They also offer good discounts at a lot of hotels primarily in Jasper. Rabbit Hill's family pass is $499 + GST and offers free lessons for all season pass holders (good if you need them) but it is too far away to get hardcore use out of a season pass for myself. A single adult season pass is $189 + GST.

Give er one more month and we should start seeing some ground whitend. I hope/pray
I totaly hear ya tho. Come to us snowflakes, come to us
Yep, Halloween night we get really cold weather or a lot of snow. Now is the time to look for some wicked deals on gear. I finally picked up a new helmet and gloves and a few extras like a lock station and a Python lock for when I go to the hostel at Big White this season. I have a shitload of stuff I need to get rid of so I'll be dropping them off at the swap at Snow Valley and whatever I don't get rid of I'll bring to the Edmonton Ski & Snowboard show a week later!
