spent most of the week in colorado again! as always it was a blast! the snow was purrrrfect. i got to take full advantage of the back to back blizzards they been getting and it snowed freshies on friday night just in time for our saturday sesh!!
so...we went out for drinks friday night which made waking up on saturday at 5:30 a bit painful...RED BULL TO THE RESCUE!!! by the time we got to vail the wings were on!! bundled up and the crew head out! vail had 7 new inches (beaver creek got 16!!!) it was awesome! we played in the pow all day. i had 2 little minor setbacks tho...we were riding thru the trees and well a couple of us aren't as familiar with the mtn...so me and thaxton ended up heading a little too far left and suddenly realized we were heading toward a river...and the only way out would be across it and hiking up!!
so we unstrapped and started hiking back the other way to a higher point so we could cut to the right. boy was that tiring! the snow was probably about 3 1/2-4 feet deep. now remember i am only 5'1"!!! oh my god. it was so hard to get thru aLL THAT lOVELy snOW!
later that day...again tree riding....I GOT STUCK in a horrible position. i couldnt even explain it. like in a well in a valley sorta thing. it took me about 15 minutes to swim outta that one, at least thats what everyone said. it felt like an hour and i was soo tired after. and i am soooo fukkin sore now becuz of it.
that was my lovely painful expedition...
we rode every last second we could and then ate pizza and beer like woah!
after dinner we headed back to watch the sessions. if you get a chance you need to watch it when it airs on tv. the sessions is always a guaranteed good time and history is constantly made with new tricks being stomped and new levels being reached! The set up is sick with 4 big money booters in a row with a huuuge flame off the 4th booter as the riders hit it, followed by an ideal little jib park set up complete with rails and walls and skate style bowls. It will be broadcasted on NBC jan 20th! ANdreas Wiig took first with three 1080's and a 900! benedek stomped a DOUBLE CORK 1260! some dude who i cant remember tried a 14 and almost hit it. siiiickness
we spent the night in breck at a friend of a friends house and headed to keystone sunday mornin. sunday at keystone was a groomer and park day! suuuuper fun easy day! and it was fairly empty!!
and as i type now the muscles in my wrists hurt cuz im still in so much pain from my saturday fiasco! so im cutting the story short. my sunday flight got cancelled and i flew out monday to FARGO NORTH DAKOTA EY! and got stuck there most of the day and now i am home...but without my baby or my luggage. the board is stuck i fargo and luggage floating around ohare. GAH!
it better be here tomorrow and in one peice!
i realized this weekend that my board doesnt do so well in pow....its much better with park and faaaast groomers/hardpack. but that's why i got it! so i guess i need to start thinkin bout a new investment.
