Words of Wisdom

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather, skidding sideways, champaign in one hand, cigarette in the other, body thoroughly used up, totaly worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO! What a Ride!"

"The trouble with jogging is that the ice falls out of your glass."
- Martin Mull

"Do not be afraid to think beyond where you are and where you have been. There is a whole world out there for you to explore and learn from and enjoy. All you need is the courage to step over the fence."
- J.B. Walton

"... the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that do."
- Jack Kerouak

"I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority."
- E.B. White

My Blog: Wednesday, January 24, 2007
I am so excited I can hardly wait!  In 9 days I will be knee deep in the beautiful, fluffy snow of the Rocky Mountains.  No work to worry about.  No school projects to deal with.  Just me and my board... ok, and probably some beer, too.  Who could ask for anything more?

So I loaded my iPod with my "Snowboard Jams" playlist, and hit up Kitchener's Chickopee Ski Club yesterday (shagged off work early and went up before all the after-school-and-work crowd showed up) for some pre-mountain practice.  The conditions were "Ontario-ideal."  That doesn't say much, I know, but it wasn't bad.  It had snowed all day and was still snowing while I was on the hill so everything was fresh and fluffy, though it did start getting ice-packed as more people showed up.  I decided to hit up a green run first (since I haven't been on my board in almost a year), but I barely made it to the bottom of the hill because it was so flat!  So I headed over to the blacks and shredded the crap out of those.  The sad part is that that isn't really impressive at all since their classifications are quite deceptive... let's just say that the supposed "black" runs I was riding were pretty well comparable to Sunshine's green runs, ok maybe an easy blue, but either way, they're pretty lame compared to the mountains.

See?  I told you before that I'm a snow-snob!  Oh well, in a little over a week it won't matter anymore.

Happy trails!

I am at Carleton taking art history, and we have reading week starting the 19th of Feb. and I'll hopefully be in Banff for the whole week. Its too bad were not there at the same time, but we should really get together some time, with Jen too.

Hows it going?
I'm in Ottawa for university, and loving it.
I got back to Ont. at the end of the season, just in time for summer.
I'm also going back out in Feb. I just might see you.
Good to hear from you, have a good one.
