Hmm I just found this on a piece of paper laying around and thought it was pretty good for a 14 year old. My baby sister's got skillz:

A beautiful daffodil has bloomed
Yellow, fresh and new
It grows strong, older
But a flower it stays
It soaks up the sun and grows taller still
The leaves stretch and the petals curl
The colour fades slowly, but a flower it stays
In the sun's heat it withers and dries
No longer fresh, it's now droopy and sad
But alas, a flower it stays


Sweet.
