159 compared to 161.

I just used a rented 161 midwide at Snowbasin. It was a bit too wide for me (260). But otherwise worked well. I had planned on buying a 159 but now I'm wondering will this be too short for me. Any input ?? PS-Im 6'0 190 size 11 shoe. Thanks |

Using a park board for free riding.

I have been riding about 75 % mountain (well hills here in Michigan) and 25 % park but I would like to increase my park riding. I was thinking about getting a shorter, park only board (about a 156) instead of buying an all-mountain board. Then when I travel out west I would just continue to rent out there. How would a board like a Burton Dominent work for this ?
PS-I'm 6'0 190 |

Are they at Mt. Hood or Whistler ? I'm looking at COC, Cascade, and Windells and Mt Hood (at Mt Hood). Thanks |

I'm 6'0, about 190 lbs. I currently ride a 161 but Ive been increasing my park riding. I think I'll do about 20 % park in the future. Is a 159 good or is it going to be too short when I'm on the mountain ? |

My sons wideboard outcome.

Several days ago I posted a topic about asking advice for my son using a wide board. (he is only 15, but has a size 13 foot) I was concerned that a wideboard would hamper his skills.
Well FYI for anyone else in this position: We rented a 155/26.2 (262) waist board last night. This board actually had a shallower side cut then any of the other boards I had seen online so I was really worried that he wouldnt be able to connect turns. Well I was wrong, the first words out of his mouth was how stable it was at speeds, I then had him carve sharp turns back and forth for about 5 runs. It not only didnt have a negative affect on his turns, but he transitioned quicker than I've ever seen him do in the past.
Just our experience, I had called to several resorts before I had found a board wider that 260mm, and for anyone in the same position I would recommend the same before you purchase. |

Ive got a Burton Air 6.1. I believe its around 16 yrs old. How does this board compare to newer Burton models as far as stiffness and design ? |

Buy or Rent snowboards.

I just posted on my son and his possible need for a wide board, which leads me to my second question: Is it best to just rent a board everywhere you go to avoid flying with it, or is it better to have your own and bring it with ? |

Wide board for 15 yr old.

My 15 yr old son is only 5'7 but has size 13 shoes. He has only used regular rental boards so far, We are both intermediate riders but I'm concerned that he will get better and will suffer from toe drag. What would be a good width for him ?? again I'm concerned that if I go too wide that he will loose the skills he has gained so far. Thanks |
