Anybody using any of these bindings with size 8 boots? Which boots? Anybody know if size 8 K2 Darkos will fit? Local shops have bupkus.

Cannot find a straight answer on this.
I'm trying to find something in a slim fit (but not Airblaster tight or bootcut -- LNP + Sexton = NO). Basically, slightly slimmer than a standard mainstream non-baggy fit.
I was looking at stuff from Special Blend in the Revolver fit, such as the D.B. pant, but I keep reading about how it's super baggy (wtf?), and super tight (make up your minds)...

Gyrator vs Turbo Dream vs Write-In.

So Wednesday at Hemlock exposed my lack of a powder board (didn't help that the snow was so fucking heavy).
I'm looking at a Gyrator 162, but I'm not too keen on that board for groomers and such.
Also a Turbo Dream 161, but that's unlikely.
<write-in candidate here>
Price: I'm not paying full MSRP, so forget NS.
Size 8 K2 boots, so keep the waist width around 25 or less (depending on the sidecut - which I like to be aggressive).
Also open to bananas.
I like going fast (mach69 or bust), so stability is key (slow is for slippers).
Discuss.

So one of my gloves went missing, and I need suggestions.Requirements:
NO leather NO zippers 06/07/08/09 it doesn't really matter what year as long as its new Medium Fit should be a little looser than Burton's Approach under glove Goggle squeegee wipe - not overly important SoftForSnot on the thumb TuffGrip or equivalent palm and fingers (should wrap around the tips) Hipora insert; Gore-Tex if the price is right Insulation (i.e. Thinsulate) would be nice Hand warmer pocket Velcro wrist gaiter adjustment - anything else is likely getting cut off Over/Under doesn't really matter - my current glove is in between; I'm not a huge fan of unders
Price: I'm not paying $85 US for 08 Hestra Gore-Tex XCR gloves. My gloves cost me $18 CAD and have all the features listed above. |

No Superpipe at Big White this season?.

Due to a lack of snow from mother nature and unfavorable early
season snowmaking conditions Big White will not be opening its Super
pipe for the 2008/2009 season. Instead we will try and focus our
efforts on the Snowcross course and the standard halfpipe.
So because of a late start, there will be no superpipe this season at all?
That's some bullshit.

So I'm going to be in the Kelowna area for 3 days / 4 nights over Christmas. Planning Big White one day, Silver Star the next.
I can get all-day (incl night) lift tickets to each for $57. Any way to get them cheaper?
For the third day, I'm thinking about hitting up Crystal. I don't care about the price of a ticket. Is the snow crap like I expect it to be? Do all the locals go there or, like Manning, can I expect the whole hill to myself? Are the lifts super slow? Terrain park any good? Decent runs? Any grooming? |
