yesterday a good friend (and coworker) of mine was brutally attacked. her fiance tried to kill her with the closest object to hand: a samurai sword. thank god it was dull, otherwise we would be without one of the best people i know. i still can't get my brain around it; it's completely out of left field, or whatever the saying is. totally unexpected, he always came across as a nice guy. and i know she wouldn't have stuck around if he was routinely a shi*t, she's such a strong person and would never put up with it. i can't even imagine what she must be going through right now... 

 

i barely ever hear of stuff like this happening in victoria, let alone to someone i respect and care about... it sucks.
