Ok, so I was in the pub last week having a few beers with some pals and
we started talking about endurance races, iron man competitions and
triathlons etc and how hardcore fit (and crazy) you need to be to be
able to do them...
Things then got a little more interesting when stupidly I agreed to a bet from the group that I
couldn't run the Marathon des Sables in Morocco in 2008...
Being the drunken but avid competitor that I am, spilling pint in one
hand, cig in the other - I graciously accepted the challenge, shook
hands with everyone, picked up the gauntlet and have spent the last
week pondering quite how stupid I can be when I've got a few units
inside me...
However, that said - I do like a good challenge and this seems like as good a chance as any to prove myself as a proper psycho!
In case you were wondering what the 'Marathon des Sables' actually is,
it's a 150mile run across the searing heat of the Moroccan sahara
desert to be completed in 5 stages over 6 days. For a little more info
on this event billed as "The toughest footrace on earth" go to this

If anyone feels like they'd like to join me on this foolish feat of utter ludicrousness - drop me a line.
If anyone would like to voice their support for such an act - after all it is for charity - drop me a line.
If anyone would like to hurl abuse at me for even thinking about it - drop me a line.
I haven't decided which charity I'm representing yet so if you have any ideas... yeh you know what to do!
I'd best get training then!
