yeah renting it out is cool but we did it so we can shut down the park run and have our comps without kids ducking our fence and complaining they cant ride it or competitors getting cut off.  its pretty sweet, and a good idea to run them ... we're only having a slopestyle and boardercross but itll be fun! 

yeah im the same in our park ... not much of a park but we have a rail set up atop our quarter pipe and its something ill hike half the day trying new stalls and taps and bonks and what not.  i cant take kids in the park so that kinda sucks, but we've made some sweet wedge jumps around the hill to use (haha if you have facebook, theres a vid on there with a couple shots from it ... spencer huvers would be who to look for haha) ... but yeah i agree with you on the park bit, and yeah!  hope you had a good day! 

yeah the comps here have been tough going!  last year we couldnt have the radio coverage cause the hill screwed them and we couldnt have live bands cause the older patrons didnt want that either ... sooo this year on one of the nights the hill is closed, the local shop has rented the hill so we can do whatever the hell we want! its gonna be sick times ... although i bet ill freeze as per usually with a walkie talkie in hand! haha

thats awesome she's like that though and at the same time awesome you're not one of those people that when you're out having a session if you have someone slower you wont stop and help them out ... so thats a good quality to have!  i see alot of people here do the opposite and just leave their friends or whatever all the time.  And it is cool having someone look up too you i think, ive had a couple kids for the last 4 years and thats what their mom told me, is that they talk about how they cant wait til the lesson next week and how they look up to me.  it makes you feel good inside,
"makes me feel kinda funny like when we used to climb the rope in gym class" hahaha

and you can always go skiing next year!!!  haha i go out once a year when a school cancels for fun!

and i think you're friend has a point to stay off the skis ;) ... especially if you've been killing it!  we havent had our comps here yet.  our hill is so stupid, the management isnt big fans of it apparently, so we only have like 2-3 nights a year for them in our less than stellar park.  March 2nd tho is our huge night!  2 comps (boarder cross and slopestyle) ... should be good, being broadcasted on local radio and tv ... live tunes and all ... im stoked, i dont compete cause i have to work em but i love it cause i get a ton of free shi*t and beer!!!

it was also funny because i emailed drake about 3-4 weeks ago about my straps stretching some (they're rubberish) and i was waiting forever for the straps and of course after i repair the broken one THEN go to the store, theres the package from drake!  haha ... kinda funny i thought! 


your weekend doesnt sound too bad, well minus the school part ;) ... and oooo birthday time eh!  thats always exciting atleast!  happy early one!  haha

some of the school groups i teach are pretty fun!  today was my advanced kids and had soooo much fun!  taught them to do some clean ollies (next week is 180s haha) and buttering, they had such a fun time ... haha we even had a contest to see who could spin the most flatland 360s in like 30 feet ... oh man i thought they were all gonna hurl, haha it was funny to watch!

on my last run with the kids, i looked down at my binding on the chair and my toe strap was hanging on by a thread!  haha, was a little upset about that, but dont really need it to carve, and instead of going to my real job after i decided to get my strap fixed first haha, we rigged up a little system on it, its sweet!  (haha this may become a double post) ...

ahh ok, thats fine then!  haha when i lived in ohio for a few years, everyone always went "yeah ive been to Canada, do you know rice lake?" ... no one ever went anywhere else but there!  it was nuts. 

yeah, i wish i'd started earlier, but i was skiing then and i was one of those kids heating the backs of my skis to make twin tips and sneaking into the "snowboard only" park causing ruckus with them!  haha ... good times!  the cold stayed today, i had to teach a school group and it was around -27ish C out ... my face has a nice bright goggle burn .. sounds hot eh?  haha

yeah, nothing has yet to keep me down longer than my recovery period.  thats awesome about your friends sister!  i have this little 8 year old kid each sunday and he rips!  he can carve regular and almost switch and can spin 3's off little rollers ... its nuts!  im running outta things to teach him!  haha its always so awesome when you see people progress so fast!  the little dude, i had in a school group last year, he's halarious.

ive been riding for 6 years i think now?  teaching for 4 of them, so not too long really but loving it obviously.  and yeah the cold doesnt get to me, even today it was -26C and just rode like it was normal, of course i have a goggle windburn but its all good, my friends dont expect less from me now, even the BC ones haha.  im sure you'd survive in the cold :P, its not too bad!

haha the hip thing is funny because 4 years ago i fractured mine and compressed my pelvic bone while riding and tried sooo hard to keep going but it was my front food and i couldnt put any kinda of pressure on it at all ... haha thats the rare time an injury has put me down.

haha i actually dont mind the cold!  its never really bothered me and still doesnt much really at all ... like my toes and fingers will feel just normal until the end of the day and go in and they thaw and then i notice haha ...and yeah i dont know, im just not comfy when i have something on my face.  i had a bandana one day and kept pulling it down ... just dont like it i guess haha

you dont need a passport do you?  i know all we need up here to cross is a government photo id and like a birth certificate ...

im living in Thunder Bay, Ontario right now ... im from Midland Ontario ... Thunder Bay is coooold now haha.  good ole teaching in -28C, with nothing on my face.  apparently someone said my face was like beat red ... i just kinda laughed cause it didnt hurt and couldnt really feel it anyways (brilliant idea eh?  cant feel it so keep going!) ... but in about 45ish days, im back to BC

cant really say im doing the same, but i am moving back to whistler in april, so thatll be good to get outta here again.

ahh really?  thats shi*tty!  we had that last month actually.  it was weird, we went from being -17Cish and then jumped to +3 and got rained on and dropped below 0 again that night and made the city into a skating rink, so atleast you'll be able to go slide the streets! haha

haha and i meant a better year this year compared to what we had last year!  is yours better this year atleast?  hopefully the rain keeps up as it cools so it turns to snow!  every little bit helps in the end!
