After meeting alot of Americans at Uni, I have several misconceptions about Australia that I'd like to clear up:
- No one drinks fosters here
- We don't talk like Steve Erwin aka the Croc Hunter (R.i.p)

We don't carry knives into the outback desert area (I have an American
housemate who actually bought big knives to take on his tour of the
outback)
- Canberra is the capital of Australia, not Sydney
- No, I'm not putting another shrimp on the barbie
- The city of Melbourne is pronounced Mel-burn not Mel-bourne
However, the toilet really does flush the other way here.
