The Bastards Day feature...
First
off let me start by saying Bastards Day was an absolute blast.. I'm
still not sure how we managed to pull it all together. The whole thing
started out with Dev, JF and myself trying to figure out a way to get
the whole crew together for a fun day of filming. Next think I know we
have Seymour locked down for the location and Pilsner and Redbull on
board for sponsors.

When
all those frosty Pilsner tacklers showed up to the office I knew
Bastards day was gonna be a day to remember. Setting up the event
seemed easy enough. We already picked up 10 GT's and had food &
beverages covered.. All we had left to do was build the GT course and a
couple obstacles to snowboard on. Wrong.. The Tuesday before the event
was an extreme low point. We almost called off the whole thing. Nothing
was ready and there was now snow cat or anyone to help get this thing
together. Lucky we had JF to take things into his own hands and do what
he does best "boss everyone around". All of a sudden we had Seymour
employee's who had no idea who we were or that we were even doing an
event working for us. It took us two full eight hour days up Seymour
digging in the snow to build everything to the level of quality the
Bastards deserved. Above: me and Stevie test a couple Pilsners prior to
the event.

The
GT cross course turned out better than I could of imagined. All I have
to say is Dev is an amazing jump builder. The GT course started with a
steep drop into a super poppy step down into a steeper landing that led
into a roller. If you made it past that then there were 3 massive berms
that you'd be cooking into with three other guys on GT's. That was
usually where everyone would go down. It ended with a second step down
over the Bastards banner with an optional hip. It was so much fun. I
personally hiked it 50 times. Above: Kale and his lady cross the finish
line.

We
had all types of wacky weather the morning of Bastards day. It started
out foggy, cleared up, turned cloudy, then dumped for about 20 minutes
until the sun finally popped out for the rest of the day. Above: Mikey
tells everyone about the new rash going around Eight Mile in front of
the Redbull tent during the mid April snow storm.

Bastards
day was a snowboard groupies wet Dream. The who's who of the shred
scene were all there to take part in the bastardism. Above: Dev and
Ikka put on their game faces before the first heat of GT cross.

Even
Dickie "the future" Pricklesteen made it up to Bastards day. Must of
been between trips. He was an absolute mess until he jumped on his tie
dyed GT and guzzled a box of Pilsner. Dickie and Eero got into an
argument over who's jacket was brighter but they're all good now..

The
Bastards who weren't GTing were posted up in the snow cave which
included a DJ booth, a 4 foot long BBQ with more meat than you could
imagine and of course a bar stacked with Pilsner, Redbull and Vodka..
Above: Jbone back flips off the snow cave QP, over the Pilsner wall and
into the snow cave bar area shirtless(obviously Paavo's request)....
Thanks
to JF, Dev, Andy and everyone at Seymour, Paul at Pilsner, Gabriel at
Redbull, Damon, Jbone, Chucky, Brisky, Duff all the Wildcats, and
everyone who made it up to help and take part in such fun day. Next
ones gonna be bigger and better. Keep an eye out for footage in "
Still Bastards" out fall 07.........
