So a couple of weeks after my 1st trial of dry slopes I was attempting to race for my uni; didn't go so well, splatted myself on the 1st run, only noticed after the 2nd race that one of my knees was getting rather wet! Had to get glued and stitched up :(
2 and a bit weeks later I fell on it again and reopened it, haha! doh!

That's right, I said I'll never do the dry stuff, but I eventually took the plunge and tried it out; all I got to say is: OWWW! and it kinda took all the fun out of snowboarding! I also had to develop some retro style to make the turns; not too great.

My baby Bataleon no longer has to be lonely as he now has a big sister; a Nitro Black Widow 153.
It was a test board so 2nd hand, but is in better nick than my Bataleon after its bashing in Tignes' queues. (Although I had a nightmare last night that I was showing my new board to friends and they noticed that it had been cracked in half and glued back together ). It was offered to me for 300€ which I turned down and left the shop, but unfortunately for my savings I had time to think about it so ended up going back to the shop and offered 270€ (£180 odd). There was discussion, phone calls to managers, but in the end they reluctantly took my money and I walked out grinning
*HAS SOMEONE BOUGHT ME A CHRISTMAS PRESENT?!*
Come on, own up so I can thank you. Who was it?

I must be the worst photographer ever. I'm bad because I just don't take any!
Saw 2 forest fires yesterday and a snake in the garden. 2nd fire was at the bottom of our hill so we watched the planes fly over our heads and drop water to dowse it. Pretty amazing stuff when it's so close.
It went a little something like this..:
It's been a usual week of none events here
Highlights have been running away from giant black bees; running away from giant queen wasps and running into glass doors.
Went on a boat today, near the coast of Hyeres. Very pituresque -except my photos were crap.
(I thought i was being artistic..)
Found a nose by the pool
(I didn't take a picture coz i couldn't look at it for more than a few seconds)

Back in France again; was in UK for over a week, just in time for the record breaking scorching temperatures! It's hot hot heat here too but at least i got a pool to jump into
Had a vampire in my room last night..and yesterday morning..and this morning. I tried to get a photo but it was too fast.
O yea, and went to switzerland and saw some snow! YEY.. and some Burton Cartels, which were gold dust in France.

My parents home in the middle of nowhere has been connected to the outside world at last..!
Not much has gone on here (apart from the forest fire burning up our hill about 150m away, i think it turned 20,000 square meters of woodland into charcoal). I turned 21 (nothing happened -although i did get to see some snow capped mountains, miles away in the distance however). I'm missing the altitude more than ever now, or I'm hating this sea level thing at least. Went out pubbin/clubbin last Saturday with some random frenchies; had a few drinks, wasn't drunk, but f*ck me did I have a killer hangover the next day -the whole day! Up at 1850m, in the 5 months that I was a wreckhead 3/4 times a week I only had 1 hangover (it was a killer). shi*t as.

Haven't put an update here for a while coz I've been way too busy on the slopes (and off slopes); had some f*cking amaze days. Its snowing like shi*t now so we'll have some powder runs tomorrow.
Haven't got any guests this week or next so we're shutting down. Leaving La Ros on Friday the 21st back in London on the 22nd. Will miss it here and am gutted that I'll be sitting at home whilst the World meet is under way :(
Any ways, I'm off to start the party early (End of season Blues, the only remedy is Chalet Wine).

Another white out today. shi*t as. Been riding quite a bit lately; it's been pretty warm some days and have been going up in just a few layers and a hoodie. Been doing shi*t80's well, 180's, just mine aren't very good, much like my ollis and everything else i've attempted these last few weeks. I've been trying to learn how to flex my board but i'm obviously not strong enough coz i look like a spaz. All good though, i'm just gunna claim it's a new style. With 3 weeks left of guests to go I've kind given up on putting effort into anything now (even getting wrecked). The job is shi*t as, the riding is slush puppy, my ankles are crippled and i still get cramp in my foot...and the local pub/venue still hasn't given me my Pirate vs Viking party ]:(
Bah! gunna get my board waxed, hopefully that'll cheer me up.

We're on our 4th day of white out here; can't wait for the sun to come out to get up the mountain and ride the pow!
Bought a Bataleon Hero 149 yesterday (last seasons) at 330€; and today I got a pair of Burton Mission bindings 206€. I paid for the bindings on my card so I don't feel as though I've just spent every cent since I started work here! Hopefully will get to test out the new shi*t tomorrow - whatever the weather ;P
taking it easy.....

Hey! Had the best few days this week. Been riding some awesome powder lines, f*cking Sweet as! Off pisting and popping off little jumps (and actually landing some of it). I managed an ollie yesterday, I think i got my whole board of the ground..haha, yea I'm a slow learner.. Today was beautiful but i rode like a dick.
Gunna buy a board soon, riding bollocks boards is beginning to piss me off; too many to chose from though.
Anyway, off to find a custome that looks vaguely Superheroish, i was thinking SuperTed..

Wish I could say I've been snowboarding all day these last few days, but thruth is I'm sitting in the pub at 14h00 typing this -we're on day 3 of a total white out, powder waist deep. I can't even watch olympic snowboarding coz the sbx has been cancelled due to bad wind conditions..grr. Anyway did try snowboarding this morning but everything just got on my tits so i went back frozen; will try building a small jump outside our chalet later though, jump into some pow! Got my 1st bruise of the season yesterday, yea haha -and that was done bum boarding, took 2 people out, how good is that!? Been riding my friends snowboard (she went home in a chopper; she's coming back though) it's the same board as mine but 146, f*cking sweet as, i'm popping off everything! I'm gunna swap my beastly 157 for a 149/150 or somthing Anyways, might go back home now to work on my viking costum for tonight (i know, f*cking traitor) and avoid the high season guests (biggest knobs ever). Hello to you!
Been a while since my last update.
Sun is shining here again, much needed after 3-4 days of Siberian gail
force winds (which blew all our powder off the pistes); now all we need
is a meter or so of new snow to cover up the grass patches and yellow
snow. I'm still riding the 157 Chopper with wank bindings. I'm gunna
get the stance opened up a bit, although I've already learnt to ride
switch at 0°
The park (and boarder-cross) has been open for a few of weeks now:
There's 2 rails and a box and a variety of kickers of different
difficulty; i didn't know this until after i tried a red one which
throws you up a little more than i was expecting -i landed on my
back...i think, i closed my eyes!
Casualty wise, we're getting some good numbers. 2 people with broken
legs, 1 with broken virtebrates, 2 with dislocated shoulders, 1
concussion with memory loss, 1 with cracked ribs and now a bad back...
only one helicopter has had to be called out though :S I've had
no injuries so far -hurt myself more walking down the piste home from
the pub.
The company still has it's problems, organisation wise, or lack of it.
Good people are still handing in resignations and getting replaced by
crap ones..And we've already worked our way through our 2nd resort
manager..! Luckily my chalet still has it's original staff and
only gets messy when our orders aren't put though right. Last week was
bliss, we had an empty chalet for the week -i felt like a total
snowboard bum ;) Next week i was hoping for the same again but it looks
like it may not be the case.
Had the rents round for a couple of days -keeping an eye on me, and to
load me up with the things i miss: music, clothes and make-up! -all the
material things..
Wish i had a digi-camera, hopefully at the end of the season i'll get
people to send me their collections, i'm sure they'll be some
interesting ones -especially from the fancy dress nights ;P
Haven't got a goggle tan yet -coz i'm hardcore and don't wear them
haha, nah.. my face just reflects sunlight..Actually i've just got a
freckly nose :(
Anyway, got to get back to the chalet to do this little thing called
'work'.. that and rinse my washing; getting to a washing machine that
works is a rariety in this place!

Hey !!
1st time I've been able to get some quality time sitting in the
L'office de tourisme and be able to spend 3€ per 15minsto get online!
(the french keyboqrd reqlly puts the icing on the shi*t-cake!)
I'm here La Rosiére (i know, where the f*ck? -look it up) the one
resort i didn't want to go to, working for the one company i didn't
want to work for - so all good really :/ Things are perking up
slightly, but the disorganisation of the company is really pissing me
qnd many others off -loads of staff have already left; and our resort manager is about to leave us in the shi*t.
Christmas
was blink and you'll miss it event, mostly coz the guests we had were
pretencious arseholes. New Years guests were awesome, just as well coz
i
probably would have packed and left by now othewise. Trying to live off
tips but that's not really working, especiqlly when you're getting
underpaid on my already weak wages..
The pistes here are few and not too challenging - I may have
to try
some freestyle shi*t to spice things up a bit; snow park has just opened
here, along with boardercross and salom area...I can snowboard to Italy
too, just got to find the time!
The board I've been lent is a Nidecker 157 Chopper, but it's dead,
especially now as I've been dragging it unmercifully over the rocks and
loose stones - hoping to buy one soon, maybe.
The bindings are pants too; a few other people had the same bindings
giving with the board, 2 people hqve already had the, come out the
boqrd as they're riding -so mine are due to come loose too i reckon!
We've had all weather types so far; today (Fri 13th) is sunshine with
hard wind swept slopes -well actuqlly thats just a guess coz i'm not on
the slopes today; got a big meeting in a bit, probably to try and
persuade the people wanting to leave to stay!
Not sure when I'll next be able to afford to get online, so till next time..
