I just had to comment on the ridiculousness of Jeremy Jones' part in the new Burton B-Movie.  The innovation he's starting with that channel system is amazing.  I mean people have been doing one-footed for a while but one footed + a loose binding on the other foot is crazy.  And he's not just using it on small stuff.  He's doing it on everything.  It's great.  The rest of the movie is pretty good too.  Watch it!

what about no-footed stuff which is heavily featured in cool story
Etiquette? Is that some sort of toilet paper?

Never scene it in that movie but I have seen some no-footed in other stuff.  I just think the one-footed/loose and spinning binding is ridiculous.

What you just said about the Channel inspired me to re-watch his part again. It has nothing to do with the Channel. He isnt riding EST bindings, because it would be physically impossible, those bindings cant and wont spin a 360 while attached to a board. Im pretty sure it was Wille-Yli who did it in something last year. It annoys me how half his part is shuv-its and I just realized he's actually only rocking 1 binding, so he can keep his stance wide without having to keep his foot inside the binding.

So how else would he do that?  I figured the channel would be the only system that allows that because the whole point of it is to be adjustable on the go and to be closer to the board.

wille did it in afterbang. That was in 2002-ish? It's cool, but kind of gimmicky...I'd rather see people ride their snowboard well, i guess...not to say his part wasn't sick when he wasnt messing around with one footed spinny stuff...

i wouldnt say hes bringing in innovation. shuv its are kinda like MJs. they are a screw around trick. i dont take them seriously as progression of the sport. i would hope that no one else does either.
Snowboarding is an activity that is very popular with people who do
not feel that regular skiing is lethal enough.

He's allowed to do cool stuff like that because he does ride his snowboard well and has been doing so for a long time.  So he's allowed to mess around and have fun.  I think it's great.

JJ is a rider, not an inventor, designer, or engineer. He didn't make the EST, just promotes it. As for his part in the sad B movie (I say that because I think the flick failed to deliver). It was sick to watch and I would love to see that part again, but to call it anything close to progression or forward thinking innovation is just not right. A few others said it, gimmicky. That's my .02

Jeremy Jones wasn't the first to do shove-its and he won't be the last so it's not really innovation. If you wanna see innovation pick up a Think Thank movie. Or watch Scott Steven's part from Stack Footy or Get Real. I don't see Jeremy Jones doing one-footed backflips or hippy jumps.
