So my little 11 year old brother has rented several times and we were thinking this year for his birthday we would get him  his own setup. only problem is i dont know what to get for him with regards to size. Is it not as specific when it comes to kids? he weighs 110lb and he is 5'5. prefurably a twin or almost twin tip deck. Nothing too cheap but the best price for quality would be good. i dont know how much difference there is in kids decks so. any help is appreciated. also id like it to last 2-3 years so sizing up is a possibilty. thanks.
Snowboarding is an activity that is very popular with people who do
not feel that regular skiing is lethal enough.

at 5'5" and 110lbs, he's a pretty big 11 yr old. i would say kids specific boards would be out. most kids boards won't allow him a wide enough stance to be comfortable. with his height, he's easily into an adult sized board. i would say look at really soft flexing boards since he's so light. women's boards would be a good option, given his weight, but i know an 11 yr old boy is probably not too psyched on flowers and all. focus on recommended rider wieghts, don't get too concerned with board height. just make sure he has room to grow in the weight range on the board and room to widen his stance as he gets taller.
