Hello everyone,

Used to be apart of this community many years ago but can't for the life of me remember my details.

I wondered could anyone help me out with a few idea for a freeride board?

Unfortunately I've been out of the loop after a knee dislocation 3 years ago :(.
My fitness has suffered due to a prolonged recovery period which I'm working on.
Looking to make a trip in January.

I used to ride Palmer Honeycombs and Honeycircles but because I haven't been in touch with the latest tech I am so confused where to look first.

Height: 5'95 ft (181cm)
Weight: 88kg

Could do with losing a couple of kgs before I head out but I mainly like the freeride style with the ability to deal with powder. I loved the Palmer boards as they were very light weight in comparison to most boards. However they used to scare the living daylights out of friends as they were apparently "unstable" as you felt more or less every bump.

I'm looking for a board that won't bite me in the ass if I get a bit lazy but at the same time a stable fast preferable light weight but very open to ideas.

Will be used with Burton cartel bindings left over from my old board.

Sorry for the long mail guys coz I'm not sure what I'm looking for trying to give as much info as possible.

Your thoughts and advice would be greatly received.

I would personally suggest the Neversumer Lotus R which is the women's version of the Premier R. It is very dampened (damp) meaning that is absorbs a lot of vibration and bumps you get when riding over chunky/hard frozen snow.

The recent innovation/fad is what is called reverse camber / banana tech / rocker... etc. The benefits for freeriding are that it makes the board slightly less grabby and the board floats in powder a little bit better. It does make the ride a little looser (too loose and squirrelly if done wrong... different companies have different versions of reverse camber so not all reverse cambered boards are built the same).

I have owned the Neversummer 155 SL (regular camber) and 155 SL-R (reverse camber) and I like the reverse cambered version more. I have also ridden the 2009 K2 Jibpan 150 (regular camber) and the 2010 K2 Jibpan 150 (mild rocker camber) and again I enjoyed the rockered version. Both of those were relatively mild reverse camber / rockers. I have also ridden the LibTech Skate Banana and Phoenix Blonde (bananatech is what LibTech calls it's reverse camber) and I found it over the top and didn't like it as much. LibTech now has a varient called C2 which is a copy of Neversummer R.C. Tech.

Anyways... hope that helps.
