i moved from a community of 250 people to toronto eight years ago... present company excepted, torontonians are douches. most people who live in toronto seem to be oblivious to the concept of other people. the pace of life was so much faster than what i was used to, too, and not in a good way. know how pedestrians have the right of way in small towns? not true in the big city. it's like playing that leapfrog on the highway game, except you're the frog. i did my four years of school there and got the hell out. now i'm in a tiny town outside hamilton, much happier.
if you like crowds and clubs and such though, you should be fine in TO. a couple good friends of mine from high school moved to toronto and still like it, so it takes all types i guess. just definitely wasn't for me.
as for snowboarding, like alison said, you've got blue, mt st louis for some semi decent riding (i may be biased though, being from out west and all), glen eden for when you get super desperate (and don't forget to say hi to the patrollers! we need love too!), chicopee in kitchener for when you've drunk enough that even the 300lb effeminate guy staring at you starts looking good, caledon if you're special, horseshoe snow valley and pineridge if you want to drive all the way to barrie but not bother with the extra half hour to bigger and better blue, dagmar if you're heading the other way out of town, hockley valley in orangeville, and apparently earl bales and centennial park are in toronto itself...
hm. so apparently i know a bit about snowboarding around here. wierd.
