I'm at UWO this year, and I will be riding as much as I can at boler and on campus.
Who lives in london and wants to ride?

Where were you 3 years ago when i worked in london and has no one to ride with :(

I'm pretty sure the UWO snowboard group used to have tuesday night meet ups at the hill and then do a trip over march break.... but that was 6-7 years ago when I was in university. Not sure if they still do it.

This post just made me realize i'm friggen old :(

not old enough to not ride

i have joined the wsf, but i was curious to see if we had anybody from london on the forum.  you can still come out and ride with me any time you want, the only thing is i am bumming rides off of people so whenever they go I will go.
on a side note, how is boler? can anybody give me a rider's perspective/overview of the whole 'mountain'?

riding boler for a year is the reason i moved to whistler.  well one of the many.  I had a pass to blue too (5x7) and i instructed at boler cause i refused to pay for a pass for THAT!

It is a fun little hill, but sooooo short. the park was very begginer, but they do have a half pipe. there are some fun little rollers and side hits.

The worse moment at boler is when we got 30cms of snow over night and myself and one of the patrolers were there early for the first lift to play in the ON pow, and the groomer was on the slope!!!! we gave him so much hell!! patroller actually let me do the tree and random 'runs' that are not usually allowed to keep me from kicking the groomer guy.

Only in Ontario are people afraid of 'powder' dumbass.

last year at blue mike and i rode the lift up with a couple guys on ski blades (yes, blades)... who were super duper excited for the tiny little bit of the run where the groomers hadn't gone... they kept talking about how awesome the powder was and how much fun it was and how we should totally follow them so they could show us where the powder stashes were....

they were on SKI BLADES.

and we're sitting there going mmm hmmm yeah, powder is awesome.... but really. this is not powder. nor is it awesome.

so we did follow them (mostly to laugh at them) and they kept falling in the 'powder' and loving every second of it. i guess props to them? but it's sad how little ontarians expect from their hills.

oh. this isn't about powder. it's about boler. which i haven't ridden yet. so... can't really add much. sorry!

i guess if they are having funa nd out enjoying themselves, we really shouldn't judge them.    but i just can't help but laugh at ski blades.. ESPECIALLY when they see the need to use poles with them! grrrrrrrrrrrrr

there is a fence in between a couple of the runs at boler..... i remember watching someone go to tail tap it and slip an edge and fall spectacularly into a tree. amazing

taking ski blades through powder is like taking a snowskate to whistler. lame. and i'm pretty sure these two had poles.

no... they didn't have poles... but what they did have was jeans.

well, the one was wearing jeans.  i thought it was a joke.  but nope... all serious.

i actually fell too... i'm sure carrie will appreciate it... i went the wrong way and came out over a drop on a flat slide thing... trust me to somehow go the wrong way even in ontario.
