Has anyone tried on the Smith Maze Helmet yet? I've been using the Holt for the past two seasons but would like to try something lighter like the Maze. I know suppose to be much lighter, but does the Maze have a large profile like the Holt?

I'm gonna have to answer my own question since I just got the Maze a week ago. I hope it's helpful to anyone else who's interested.

Right off the bat, the Maze looks smaller, feels much lighter, and looks better than the Holt of the same size.

Where the Holt has a "smooth as a dome" shape (very egg-shaped or chopper pilot helmet style), the Maze has some contouring that makes it look more like it's made for a head than an egg (the sides and back looks slimmer and the top doesn't stick up as much as the Holt). The tasteful contouring lines make the profile of the helmet look smaller.

The helmet is so much lighter than the Holt. I thought the Holt was already light, but the Maze just feels like having two beanies on my head. Even though the Maze is made out of different protective materials than the Holt, I don't think a lot is sacrificed for the new design.

Bottom line is, if you have been avoiding wearing a helmet because you think they're bulky and/or makes you look like a nerd, the Maze is definitely worth a look; this helmet definitely isn't just another bucket.
