Hey guys i was wondering if you can help me out a bit. Im lookin at headin over to Japan in march/april 2010 and do some boarding. I wanna stay in tokyo for 3-4days then catch the train or whatever to the snowfields. I'm Australian but i wanna buck the trend and stay away from the popular foreign areas and get a more traditional japanese experience. I heard there is some pretty badass snow fields in and around niigataa and yuzawa, namely ishiuchi maruyama. I heard there is awesome freestyle terrain there and some good runs as well.

I wanna do this trip on a budget so i would wanna stay in a hostel for about 3 weeks. If you guys could help me with some recommendations regarding accommodation, the resorts in the area, nightlife or share some experiences would be awesome. Even if you recommend some area completely different would be good to hear also.

I've only done a couple of seasons so far, falls in aus and queenstown NZ but im doing blacks and starting to hit parks just to give you an idea of  where im at with my riding.

If any locals wanna hook up and go riding would be sweet as well, ill be coming with a couple of mates
