Have you ever rode any of those?  The Contrabands are great dood.  Hella control, good stability, and even great response.  I was skeptical at first, then I got to demo a pair, and fell in love. 

Which leads me to my best advice, demo whatever you might think you wana buy before you buy it and it turns out to suck.
