Hey I'm looking for some advice on sizing and such for a beginner board.  My girlfriend has been trying snowboarding a bit, I took her maybe 5-6 times last year and had her use whatever old board I could borrow from friends/siblings.  I'm just wondering what she would need in terms of a used board or something of her own.

She's a beginner, but she wants to try more and ride some park with me, probably needs an all around kind of board.  She's about 5'6" and about 120lbs.

Also, should I look for women's boards or does it matter?

I'm really looking to get something really cheap to get her started.

Sorry but anyone have some basic sizing advice or board ideas?  I'm going to start looking into what's left of the last year's model sales, but I'm wondering what size she needs.

Thanks

So a women's board is different from a mens board in that it is narrower and softer flexing. This is because on average women have smaller feet (so the board doesn't need to be as wide) and are lighter and have a little bit less muscle mass than guys (meaning it is harder for them to bend the board).

A 5'6 120, you could use a shorter guy's board if you found something really cheap... something in the 140-145 cm range. However, I think you still might be best off with a women's board in the 143-148 cm range. Here are some boards on sale (all are 40% off, free shipping, good return policy/customer service). Let me know if you have any questions.
