i know there is way better shit out west but being 16 with no job, its a little out of my reach so what is the best place to shred in mn? it can be in the cities or as far up as lutsen.
in my opinion the best place i have been to is giants ridge. they have really good slopes and usually almost 2ft of fresh powder every time i have been there. and the terrain park has everything. rails, boxes, kickers. and there is a mine park if you just want to go and fuck around.

2 feet of powder at Giant's Ridge? Wow, I don't remember that. Anyway-Spirit Mtn has a great park...Lutsen has great/longish runs and natural terrain.

+1 on Lutsen.
But for the same money and doing a bit of budgeting for the December 5th season pass deal, Mt. Bohemia slays it all....just no park and no beginners, as the lowest run they have is a single blue, and I agree with that (not their triple-black ratings, though).  If you get 4 peeps to plan on it, you can get your season pass for $75 each, rent the house or a cabin from Lac LaBelle Lodge for cheap, and with a planned roadtrip you can easily spend 5 days there for under $500 (including food).  Booze is your own decision.  Be ready for trees, cliffs, and sore legs.

I have only riden Lutsen & Buck..... Liked them both, but for different reasons

Lutsen - just plain fun hill (or small mountain((s))) all around

Buck - the park crew seems to have it going on (only been there for Rome's Pre-Jib & worked w/ the park crew on the setup)

1. Lutsen(north of Duluth)
2. Mt. Bohemia(UP Mich)
3. Spirit Mtn(duluth)
4. Afton Alps(Twin cities) Best snow making and biggest area few crowds if you know where to go and nice facilities that mirror western resorts as far as layout.
