well one has camber and one has reverse camber. have you researched into the effects that reverse camber gives you? if not you should do so. then just decide if you want those things in your board. also I believe the 1985 runs a bit smaller too. I went through the same thing when i was deciding if I wanted the www or the rocker. I decided upon the rocker because i have been riding a hardcore directional, almost powder board and wanted to have speedy, catch-free progression in the park.

ya i have done alot of reaserch on both of them. ive kinda been leaning tward the 1985 artifact because the reverse camber gives you hella pop and isnt to horrible when i do ride the slopes every now and then.

yeah normally i wouldnt think that RC boards would have a whole lot of pop but kids on dogfunk are really raving over the carbon in the tip and tail going so far as to say it has more pop than the cambered artifact. id say go with the 85. it cant hurt and unless your doing some deep carving its going to feel real nice and buttery. and besides your riding mostly park so. one thing though. the rounded off bronze edges are going to mean less edge hold so that is another thing to consider

first off the 1985 does not have more pop than the regular artifact imho, they stiffened up the 09 artifact a bit and it has pretty sweet POP. i had both last season and ended up giving the 1985 to a friend and switching to the reg artifact.  and i really dont get why companies are making their noodle boards in rc, its not necessary.  anyway i had way more fun on the regular than the 1985. and thats my 2 cents.
whap
to be honest, I didnt like the artifact.

I have the 07/08 artifact with normal camber, and tested the 09/10 1985 one at the end of the winter. My feeling was that the RC is more tolerant, but is even crappier to ride outside of jibbing/flat - it goes a little bit better on powderish snow but that's all really, but can't do a descent turn with it, a bit like riding a big soap. It is alright for small and mediumish kickers as well.

All this say, I am usually into more nervous board, found the rossignol retox 09/10 much more interresting to ride.

The 85 is better because of that carbon in the tips it gives better pop in my opinion. It's like do you want a deck with nothing or do you want a deck that's more snappy?
f*ck the rest die like the Best!

don't buy bronze edges, you will regret it forever.
Unless you like buying new boards all the time or don't hit rails.

the board i have right now has bronze edges and it works amazing and i love hitting rails. the bronze edges are for helping NOT catching up on rails and making the board easier to slide. i dont what your talking about not buying them for.

Since bronze is softer than normal edges they bend, crack, and break easier for most people. Might as well just get non-bronze edges with a bevel on them.
Am I indecisive? Well, yes and no.

not to be mean, but you might not be hitting stuff hard enough, or riding rails as much as others... they don't last long at all, get some beefy strong edges.

riding with bronze edges is like running with plastic tires... seams like a great idea untill you actually need to stop or turn.   Lets to a little metelurgy 101 bronze is super soft which means they are easly damaged... and will not hold an edge when you really need to hold an edge...

Steel is very hard and is able to take a beating and still survive... if you really want to have edges that dont catch then de tune  dont use a soft metal nub

i swear kids these days no kind of smarts......

That's true, soemtime even using my artifact in the park can be tricky as it is not edgy at all... but they are funny for jibbing really (and that is all i do with mine)

You guys do realize the artifact is a throw away jibstick yes? so stop talking about carving and trying to hold an edge, It's a jibstick it's meant to get beat up and it's meant to basically be buttered down the whole run. I don't think the dude is looking for a racing stick if you get my drift :P.

yea steel may be tougher but its stiff as hell and it is really sticky so its sucks for jjibbing. the only reason someone would go with steel is if they were going to do more shredding. and seeing all that i hit is the park, the edges would be pointless for me.
maybe you should do a little backround checking on things like this before you go posting shit that is totally irrelenvant to the board being talked about
