I did my first season when I was under the legal drinking age (for the US). I still had a ball and don't regret it one bit. Of course there was times when I felt a bit left out because it seemed all my friends were heading out and I couldn't go, but I still got in my fair share of partying and it always meant I was more likely to be first one up in the mornings. It was hard though because where I grew up, the legal drinking age was 18 so it did feel like I was being treated as a little kid again.

There's a lot of young people in Whistler (sorry for the grandma attitude - not that I'm that old either) but that's the first thing I noticed when I moved there a few years ago. I was quite surprised about the number of people who are in the 17-20 year old age bracket, so you won't be alone there. But there will always be someone who's willing to party with you even if you're not going out. And there's heaps of other stuff to do in Whistler other than go out and drink at the bars (although, I hate to say it, but it is a big part of the culture there too).

I probably wouldn't willingly do another season if I was underage, but it was a fun experience. Can you start a year at uni and then do a season? Hope this helps with your decision a bit!

Or just get to know the bouncers REALLY well.. ;) and maybe they can sneak you in

I say go for it. Not that I ever lived in Whistler, underaged or no, but you're smart to go BEFORE you go to university - it's way easier for you to go now than after.. you'd run the risk of talking yourself into being responsible and getting a full time job etc etc. Just go for it. There will always be house parties for you to party at. And, you know, snowboarding. And if you can't go to the bar, you're less likely to be hung over so you can get more time on the mountains!

Go to University then move here.. or else you'll get trapped in the bubble and never go.

Legal drinking age? Psh, if you can drink milk, you can drink beer!

Then again, You ARE from Sask... hahaha

one piece has to have your photo... the other one a matching name

photo one has to be government issued.

i had a bunch of friends who WERE over 19 get denied because they only had one piece of id.

true fact....one of my friends had all her older sister's ID because they looked exactly alike. She had a special "going out" wallet with all the sister's ID in it. It was pretty legit

my brother did that exept the look almost nothing alike and it still worked
