Ratatat

Because it's fun to say & type. And is awesome.. they transcend genres - I can put them in my "Dance Party!" AND my "Chill" playlists and they fit in both. What other band can do that?

mmmm off the top of my head, no. But I did just think of another fun one (and they do have lyrics): Chromeo. Good times if you like dance parties!

Oh and Daft Punk if you didn't already try them.

Support bands that play electronic music with instruments, not just some guy sitting there on his mac:

Lotus:

Sound Tribe Sector 9:

Perpetual Groove:
This is one of my favorite bands out.  Listen to 3 Weeks for something with vocals.  Decepticon and Teakwood are also good ones to check out from this show.

^^ If you like electronic bands that play their own instruments, then you should definitely check out Chromeo too.. if you haven't already. Dude on a guitar and another dude on a keyboard with a talk box.

Ratatat play their own stuff too.. guitar, bass and synth (Just another suggestion for you to check out if that's what you're into if you haven't already)

Also check out Death From Above 1979.. they were a bass player and a drummer. And one of them went on to do MSTRKRFT.

There's also Junior Boys. I don't know them too well and I'm not sure if they play instruments, but they had a song on an MDP movie that was pretty good.

Junior Boys is hot. I haven't listened to their 2nd cd yet... though I have it on order.

Hot Chip is better!

Flaming Lips is... ummm flaming lips.

Radiohead

Postal Service is different... since it is the guy from Death Cab for Cutie...

+/- is hot... they genre hopped from their first to second album. 2nd album is more acoustic and rock than electronic.

The Notwist albums: Shrink, Neon Gold, and Different Cars and Trains EP. Shrink is jazz and electronic mixed in here and their. Neon Gold is really awesome... but really mellow. Different Cars and trains is a complete remix of a few songs from Neon Gold.

Ming & FS is mainly R&B but also electronic

And on a completely different note... you gotta check out Of Montreal... Those guys are crazy!!! (I mean that literally.) If the singer didn't have music I think he's be killing people for pleasure.
The last thing i said was important. Put it on your fridge.

I second most of those already posted. Ratatat and +/- are dope.

Solid Gold
Ming & Ping (An MDP favourite)
Goldfrapp
Holy Fuck
The Sounds (Their new album is absolutely amazing)
Thermostatic
TV On The Radio
M83
Vanshe
Suferosa
Wintersleep
Zagar

All equally amazing groups. Take the time to look into all of them. You won't regret it.

tv on the radio is my most valid contribution.

Snowboarding is an activity that is very popular with people who do
not feel that regular skiing is lethal enough.
