Hey hey!

I'm super cheap and prone to injury/falling.. Well not too bad when snowboarding.. but when I go down it's hard..

Last season I wore volleyball knee pads on my knees as they're cushy (I hate the hard pads..) but I just don't think they're going to cut it on icy days...

Anyone got any ideas what I can stick in them? Some sort of hard gel pads would be awesome but i have no idea where to get them from..
All I can come up with is gel mouse pads.. but surely there's something a bit more suitable out there?

You could look into knee pads for tile setters at a hardware store, some have a hard plastic shell on the outside and foam on the inside.

Of course its the pain that will drive you to get better so you don't fall so much.

If everything seems to be under control,
You're not going fast enough!!

i do construction work and the pads i have for work have a softer plastic/rubber on the outside and get inserts on the inside, i got them at princess auto for around 20 bucks, they work well for what i use them for but i dont know how they would be to ride in all day.

I reckon the ones with hard outsides probably do more damage than is worth it.

That's true about falling.. and I improved heaps last season (my first) to the point of hardly falling.. but the last time I did fall it was freaken hard (and involved flipped over haha..but somehow didn't hurt.. ) but I shall be starting work as a nurse around the start of this season.. and moving to Australia JUST after it.. so I wanna maximise my riding time and just go really hard.. with minimal injury!!
