Just looking to hit the C-Rail tonight if I build up the courage.  I've hit rails and boxes but for some reason that thing just seems a little different.  Any tips on the best way to approach it?

Thanks.

the thing about all rails, you must dedicate urself fully to it otherwise u wont make it to the end. i suggest leave off a little from the inside  and dedicate urself to it. to gain confidance, pop over and let urself get off early on the outerside of the turn. u'll gain confidance on it and ur gonna be bound to get it with practice and dedication..

Put the rail right under your front foot and keep your knees bent. Lean on the inside. By the time you make it around the board should be about centered.

* For almost all C-rails/boxes, you should be boardsliding. 50-50 looks weird and it's hard to keep a flat base through the curvature of the feature.

* C-rails/boxes tend to whip you around to switch. Don't fight it...just let it spin you around switch.

* Watch a couple people hit it to get an idea of speed. Too fast and you'll shoot off over the top...too slow and you won't make it the whole way.

* Stick your butt out.

* Keep your shoulders in line with the rail. As it curves up, be sure to keep your body level with the feature to avoid slipping off.

* Keep your knees super bent. Pop on and land soft.

thanks for limiting peoples tricks. Ive seen sicker 50-50's on the crail at our hill than any boardslide. Dont get me wrong, its fun to play around with boardslides on c-rails forsure.

Just hit it how you think you should be hitting it. If its just a flat C-rail, and it isnt banked at all, you should be able to just pop onto it with your base at an angle sliightly to the inside. Keep your balance an land that rail! After you get bored of that bitchs boardslides, variate spins out of the rail. 180's, alleyoop 180s, 360s ect.. FUN!

M-C makes a good point. 50-50s can be done on c-rails too. Smooth riders make them look good and, depending on the shape of the rail, a 50-50 can be a very technical trick. Boardslides are often a good place to start, especially on boxes or wider rails...but by no means the only option. Do whatever works best for you and the feature—progress, have fun and show respect.
