So I've got 180's down (both FS and BS) and am starting to step up to 3's and was wondering which would be easier to learn first.  I feel like it would be easier to do a BS 360 first because I'll be frontside right before the landing, but I'm not sure exactly, thanks

generally, spinning to the left is easier for 99% of the public. So, which ever what that is for you depends on if you are goofy or regular.

I learnt bs 3's and 5's and switch\cab fs 3's and 5's before I started doing fs 3's. switch bs for me is still the hardest, also depends on the jump, what ever feels natural

BS3 are much easier for me (goofy).  As far as smaller and natural hits are concerened, takes more or a scoop on the jump to make me feel like I get enough launch for anything FS

My theory is that it is the direction that you swing a baseball bat in... because you are already used to pre-winding and throwing your shoulders in that direction.

For right-handed regular riders, this is a frontside spin. I'm left handed regular, so I prefer backside spins and switch frontside spins.

However, you are correct that backsides are nice because you can see the landing (what you mean by frontside) for the last half of the rotation, where as you are landing blind on a frontside 3.

That baseball swing analogy is really good!  I always tried to explain to people which is easier to learn and I wondered why i found bs3's easier and some of my friends found fs easier to do first.  Well, I'm goofy and they're regular.  Makes perfect sense.

Once I has fs3's dialed I found them easier since you can turn your shoulders over 1/2 of the way around before you even take off whereas you're not as flexible on the bs pre-load.  Means you can pretty much olly into a fs3 but need a bigger hit for a bs3.

Well, it doesn't only depend on which way you feel more comfortable spinning ( left or right). It also has a lot to do with which way you feel more comfortable carving into, and poping. That's my problem with bs spins!
I learned bs 3's the first season, never landed one again( haven't really tried though, focused more on my fs)! For some reason I think it's really hard to take off properly when doing a bs 3, I always loose my balance. Maybe I prewind to much, and try it on a to small jump, I don't know...better try them again soon.

So even though it's easier for me to spin to the left, a fs 3( which goes to the right for me, I'm goofy) is much easier.

if anything you should be able to pop off your toes more than off of your heels.

That's quite personnal I think. I feel more confortable doing FS 3.6 as I keep the landing in view longer, but I actually do them better in BS...
I'm French, I am proud of it...
...but I just f*cking hate them back home!

For me, BS 3`s are easier....I tend to have a bad habit of "opening up" too soon when I do FS 3`s.
