Not that I'm about to die or anything...but this has been a good winter, hitting mountains I haven't ridden before (in the East, anyway...I've ridden most of Tahoe, but nothing else out West...that's next). So far this year the "new" mountains include Burke, Loon and Sugarbush. I'll hit Ragged for the first time on Saturday.

in VT, the only mountains I've yet to ride are: Mad River (cuz they won't let me), Magic and Pico. I'm trying to knock off the New Hampshire mountains now, with sights also set on Sunday River. Winter is running out, though.

I'm glad to see someone else has hit up Burke, it's an awesome little mountain to shred. Haven't been there since my friend left Lyndon State, just keep going to Jay.

I loved Burke! Surprisingly steep and the place has a great vibe. And NO ONE seems to go there...I commented to one of the locals last weekend that I was surprised it was so quiet for a holiday weekend. I mean, no lift lines, runs with no other people. It was great. But he thought I was crazy, said it was the one of the busiest days he'd ever seen there! If that's the case, I'll be going back. Loved it.

I gotta admit, we wimped out on Jay on Saturday. We got to the mountain at 8:00 and it was 6 degrees with 30-35 mph winds, and the top of the mountain closed. Screw that. I had anytime vouchers, so I'll just go back on a better day. I love Jay, too. One of my favorites when the conditions are right.

you're not missing much by not hitting magic in VT...not unless you hit it after a couple big storms

he's right, WAIT until a HUGE DUMP (1-2'+), THEN hit magic, then you're in for a hell of a day, there's quite a bit of crazy stuff to ride when there's freshies.   Other than that, dont bother, they dont make snow and there's no park.

only east coast mtn I have to add this yr is Windham.  I've always gone either to Hunter or farther north.  Got there after a decent size storm and had a bit of fun.  Hitting the jump into the airbag was awesome too.  You're supposed to pay to do that I guess but I snuck in ;)
